I was doing Assault on Splinterskull on Normal with my 5th lvl Wizard when lo and behold, up pops a Portable Hole. I was going to buy one for another toon, but the prices were insane. I'm glad I waited. :D What a nice day off.

I've also found a few in Gwyland's Stand on Hard/Elite, and was happy to do so each time. :) You are right - the AH prices on these have gotten silly.

especially when you think most of the sellers probably got them free from gianthold favour, plus ive seen lots of them in end rewards from GH quests

Was the Tangleroot one a chest drop out of the level 7 quests?

Definitely was happy to get one from my second Delera run the other day..... :)

Saw one drop on a normal difficulty Gwylan's run the other day.

The leader had bought one of the jewels from the DDO that increases loot levels so that might have had something to do with it.

That would have mattered only if he was the one that pulled the item. His loot jewel does not impact the rest of the party.

Thats amusing, since I pulled one on the End rewards for Delara's part 3 the yesterday as well. Never recall seeing that before. I was on normal, since was just blowing thru it for cartouche (which did not show...grrrr) with a level 15.

I did a while back as well. Maybe the tinkered because I don't ever remember getting one from Delera's end before.
