We have a player has been afk for an hour and he somehow hasnt time out(and the game drop me for afk 10 min ***?). Since the quest needs all the players to be in the last room, we cant finish the quest. Is there anyway to force the guy to drop?

Contacting a GM is your best bet. Most likely he's griefing, though. If he hasn't timed out then he's probably gone back to his computer and moved his mouse a couple times or something like that.

no, if he hasnt dced till now then he isnt afk.
f2p dcs after 20mins, premium after 40 and vips after 60 (f2p and premium might be off, but im sure ip is 1h)
you could try to get a gm to help you, but i doubt he would do it
or just recall and reform without that guy
agreed with above post. Contact GM via griefing ticket. You can start a ticket by pressing your ESC key, then choosing HELP.
Good Luck.
Edit: Visty, largely I agree with you, but there should be some repercussion for the poo poo head who would do such a thing.

Don't be too angry. Sometimes life calls suddenly and you have to do something. Or, the limitations of the body strike. I remember one night where a titan raid failed because someone carrying important quest items fell asleep at their keyboard. That was awesome.

See if you can drag some monsters back to him, and hit diplomacy....see if you can get him killed.
Then carry his stone to the end. ;)

Are you absolutely sure it needs everyone to be in the last room? He gives the same line even if you are solo and there is noone else.

Yes everyone has to be in the last room. If you are soloing he says that and waits for Jeets to get back to the rom before you can complete... When he says everyone has to be in the last room he means from both groups, which is why he says it when you are soloing.

sorry to say it guys, but there are ways to prevent auto dc's. but to know those ways you need to have being around a bit - so it sounds a lot like you got a deliberate griefer :(
report them, black list them and let ppl on your friends list know so it wont happen to them. in game reputation does make a difference :)

What's interesting is they introduced that "everyone gather" at about the same time they removed the original "everyone gather" quest requirement from the game because of that type of problem. Ooops.
Me thinks they need to get rid of this one too.

You could have completed the quest 3 times over in the time you have been waiting.
It may or may not be griefing, but it was just silly of you to stay for that long.
Out of curiosity, which one of you said "share quest" when you joined the group?
I am betting both of you.

No he doesn't. He waits a set period of time. If you rush in fast enough, Jeets gets locked out when the exit portal appears.
Note I am not talking about non-solo, just that his behavior solo isn't as you think.
P.S. grouped, if anyone in the party clicks the portal the entire party gets tossed out even if they haven't clicked the portal. Not deliberately tested to see what happens if someone stays outside, mind.

As much as this player is a bit of a jerk for doing that. This is 100% Turbine's fault for terrible quest design and making it too easy to grief others.
Hopefully they'll change it sooner rather than later.

If that were the case, they would have DC'd. They didn't so it is obviously intentional.

I am betting both of you.Even IF they had both typed that, you think the intentional griefing is justified? They did the quest, not 'mr.uberiamgoingtopunishthesenoobsfortypingshare'. Drop group in that case but his "solution" has no justification.

I will have to follow the 2 posts above. Unleass you ahve a reason to think somebody is doing it on purpose they are probably not. I would guess that everything is already dead and you proly cant get any montesre to him:(

the reason that they suspect it is intentional is because after the described amount of time anyone that hadnt taken specific steps to circumvent timing out would have already been kicked from the game. therefore it is assumed that this person did take some type of action in order to remain in game.
as for then having cleared everything already, the ice spiders seem to respawn every time i am in that room too long, but i cant be sure because i have never stood around with the intent of checking.

In this case, I do not consider getting him killed to be cruel.
I think the Ice Spiders respawn. But getting them to follow you all the way to him would be difficult. And I don't think Diplomacy would work on them.
But it might be possible.
Not sure a group of new players could do it though.
I remember when Coyle would bug out on the Clay Golems that would not animate.
I dragged back some other monsters and eventually got him to agro on them, and follow.
Surprised the group I was with that, that worked.
My guess is
the guy was not aware of "all gather" mechanics and intended to pike.

something else thats not been mentioned, blind invites. sending a party invite to someone without talking to them first is annoying. what ever you were doing you now have lost control because an invite is in your face. while about town this is an annoyance, when soloing a dungeon it can be a killer. i know quite a few vets are even more tired of blind invites than they are of shr plz. one thing the vets are starting to do it to accept the invites then continue with their task and never meet up with the party.
so bearing that in mind if the person sat at the entrance was given a blind invite then they could be sitting at the entrance just out of spite, knowing you wont be able to complete with them there.
thats not to say that behaviour is acceptable (i prefer to talk the newbies through better ways to form a party) but it is a possibility of what was going on.
as for what you could do? well, not a lot. as mentioned the spiders might have respawned, so you could have tried to get him killed the hauled the stone to the end. reforming the party is another better and more forgiving method (if the guy did have a real reason to get stuck at the entrance). you could even try to get a GM to help, though i'm not sure if there is any thing they could agree to do. your probably better off making a note of the players name and either talking to them to find out what happened, or just avoiding them in the future.

Just to add a small snippet of information:
F2P players are not eligible for in game GM support apparently. I found this out after submitting a ticket for something (couldn't find a link to contact an online GM) - the reply I got back was pretty specific in letting me know the support limitations of F2P.
If the OP is F2P then they pretty much have to rely on email support to look at the problem, in that particular situation there isn't much that can be done besides logging out for a bit I guess. Now if you have a VIP player in the group who is annoyed as well, they can send a ticket in for online GM assistance.
