Mummies Disease/Curse

Does a disease immunity item have any effect on the mummies Disease/curse?

it prevents you from getting it...the mummy rot that it, a mummy curse you can still get

IIRC you still get the effect of being cursed (atack/save penalties, etc), just not the effects of the disease portion.
