I just read the release notes.
Harry is fixed in part 4!
So much for a good game exploit!

just means fewer un-earned, un-deserved completions.
If you were in a group that did part 4 in 1-2 rnds with Harry staring off into space then you would have completed anyway. But if you were in a group that was taking 3+ rounds then the chances of beating part 5 become slimer and slimer. Some were able to barely sneak one by but now you really have to contend with part 4.

Not excactly happy for this change, but I don't mind it. It felt cheesy anyways, doing like that.
But one thing really worries me, is that they plan on making the Boots pretty much MANDATORY for any party member (ie, making the banishment a huge AoE so, at least for a healer, you definately need boots, even with a 33 will save (for the odd chance of rolling a 1).
At least make it possible to save for this one spell on a 1.
If not, I really hope they plan on upping the drop rate on the boot ingredients, because I feel like this might very soon become a dead raid. At least on argonessen, there are hardly any Amrath quest runs. That, and being items sought after by pretty much any fresh level 20 melee, and then adding even MORE people on the market for the ingredients would raise the already staggering 5+ million gold per ingredient, minus the mysterious artefact, even more!

i would say the number of pug newbie groups for shroud that can successfully complete shroud will fall to almost none. in the last 3 such runs i did, i had to hero arraetrikos. that is something not seen since the 2nd month shroud came out. new players are dying left right centre due to insufficient hp and no fortification. new healers were foolishly using heal instead of mass cures. best is when they try to argue how heal is better

Those players will get there eventually. Three heroes was the main method used in the first month, until we had the gear to handle the all-in approach. For Elite, I prefer six heroes now (with two or three clerics rotating Mass Heal rather than using Mass Cures), other party members attack from range.
Players will fail at part 4, rather than expending enormous resources brute-forcing part 5. But, they'll fail and learn (or they'll fail and give up on the Shroud for a while).

you do not need much gear to handle the all in approach. all you needed was approx 350-500 hp, 100% fort and 2 healers using mass cure/heal
I'm just happy because the other day on AH I snagged a cheap +5 Holy Silver Greataxe of ... Deception that I've been unable to use in pt 4 for obvious reasons... :)
I can only prey the lag will be fixed.
My cleric won't be able to handle 2 rounds of blind healing without expanding resourses.

It'll still probably cause unintended aggro problems. Even before he just sat there, he would still bug out with deception and go chase casters down. Deception also breaks intimidate in quests like ToD and VoD.
Deception needs an overhaul, along with unbalancing strike.
All that said, it's a nice weapon. :) Deception is just a headache.

For those who just started with DDO:U, this is about the second month shroud came out. It was closed down for a while.

Part 4 takes more than 1 round? Who knew....

Awww and my timer on the Shroud just ran out today. So much for "stand in the middle and get behind his back" and "don't be THAT guy with the deception weapon".
But seriously, that was the easiest part of the whole raid and by easy, I mean easier than beating-down-the-portals easy. Some round 5 tactics, except without regenerating mana, are in order I think :)

Yes I know, I was just saying for a lot of people it is new and shroud is harder on new players. I play on Cannith and it can be pretty funny running shroud with vets from other servers. I have been in groups where the healer wants to complete and that it will be no problem because they single heal in part 5 all the time on Kyhber. Needless to say it doesnt go well. It is changing. More and more people are getting portal/harry beaters. Single round part 4's are happening more and more in pugs. Fixing harry will set things back a bit in pugs, but it is pretty lame as it stands now.

Your mass heal fixation remains straight up disturbing, we need to have a talk about this.

Or is he... I heard rummor Harry will not only fight back again in part four after the fix with more tact then he had pre-bug... he will fight back using all his pitfiend abilities and savy of everything he does in part five, will not stand centered at all unless you can pin him down - heroing will not be an option he wants anyone he think is worthy close to him - mages and clerics inclusive.

Is there another way? Am I missing something?
I actually will be looking for a 3rd healer when the patch goes live. Then see how the improvements shake out.

This change is the least of the things to worry about really
all this does is put shroud in the VOD/HOUND/TOD category for raid party requirement
now even shroud requires an intimitank for ease of success
that is right all you need is a character that pushes the boundries of intimidate while still some how having great ac or hps and DR and everyone else stays behind him ....
I tanked my first hound yesterday without a bard and an intimidate skill of 49 (on normal and didnt intimidate Her just the pups but she stayed on me anyway) and that is at lvl 17 with all the skill points i can put into it and a +15 item and a +6 cha item (no shroud item yet) and only buffed with GH.
sometimes i wonder how people can be effective intimitanks and still be effective DPS there just isnt enough stat points to make CHA anything more then a dump stat for fighters .... and its amazing that some people can hit 70+ let alone 80+ intimidate.

intimidate doesnt work well in shroud due to arraetrikos' agro mechanism

you do not need intimidate for hound, in fact, a fog works better. fyi, even my caster tanked xyzzy before

my fighter has 60+ intim, dual wields khopeshes and has +50 damage on main hand.
