Apparent Server Merge

Ok, so I'm downloading the game after being gone for a very long time.

After checking a couple servers, I find my guys on Thelanis, but they were apparently on Tharashk before, because most of their names are now something like "Maniacal-Tharashk Midget."

I was made to select 4 of the 9.

What happens to the other five? They just disappear? And the money and items on them?

Your account is now in premium status, meaning that you don't pay a monthly fee, but on the other hand you are more restricted. You have ony 4 availabel character slots and you need to ither buy more slots or upgrade you account to vip (by paying a monthly fee again), to gain access to the rest of you characters. When your do gain access to them, they will have all the gear and plat they had when you left.

They stay right where they are until you buy more character slots (premium only get 4 for free) or upgrade to VIP (who get 10).

If you are premium and any of them are purchase-only stuff you haven't unlocked (say like wf as a premium), you won't be able to play them until you get that too.

However, none of their gear or anything will go anywhere.

As to the hyphenation, people with duplicate names got that on server merge (eg, if there had been no Maniacal on Thelanis, you wouldnt have the hyphenation, but since there was you got -Tharashk).

What about the names? If I choose to rename them, is it a simple procedure?

What's odd is that I've got a Gott Verdammt and a Gott-Tharashk Verdammt.

I guess I made characters on both of those servers.

name changing is easy. /changename <insert name>

You should still have a free name credit since your names where changed way back in the day due to the merge. But be wise on your selection, as you only get one per character.

F2P (free to play) exsists now, so much has changed. If you want your ViP status, just start paying your 15/month. Personally, check it out as a Premium player for a efw, and then go ViP when ready.
