View Full Version : Rethinking Resets

I generally play solo and it is sometimes frustrating to have a dungeon reset, although I've run as quickly as I can from the nearest tavern.

I assume there's still no way to lengthen the reset beyond 5 mins? I think there should be options to (a) immediately reset a dungeon and (b) have a dungeon reset on a slightly longer timer for solos (1 member parties), say up to 10 mins.

(a) is possible. Just abandon the quest and get the quest back from the questgiver. Most questgivers are near the quests, so this works fine most of the time (just don't abandon a quest when you're in the middle of a quest chain).

As for (b), did you bind in a nearby tavern or do you have to run back to one of the houses from Korthos? I'm not trying to be sarcastic, but I've only ever had reset problems when I forgot to bind to a nearby tavern.

Sitting in a tavern, waiting for hp to regen wont cut it either. Spend a few gold on some food if you want to make it back before reset.

(a) Just abandon; it would be very helpful if there were a "reset" option for quest chains and encounter areas, though.

(b) Soloing is meant to be difficult; if you die, then its expected that you have to restart - buy some potions, and then run back and chug them inside the quest, death should not be a miraculous hp/sp reset.

Could also give a hireling with rez a shot, barring that, buy the highest food that you can, should only take a few seconds after eating it to fill your hp up so you can get back to the quest.

Might want to watch out on those hirelings though. If you and your hireling both die and can't make it to a shrine then once you release the zone will reset as it drops the party. With the party dropped it resets the dungeon as though you were with a group of people and left then to do it on your own.

Was doing Quickfoot Hideout and bond to Phoenix, which is absolutely the closest. I don't even stop for regen or food. The moment I can move, I'll run out the tavern door and straight to the dungeon entrance.

I think it's just long loads and bad lag that gobbles up my 5 minutes... :(

A veteran gamer just shared with me a possible solution, so I thought I'll share it here. Basically, buy the best pair of Striding Boots I can, then equip that before the sprint. That might shave a precious few seconds that I need to 'tag' the door before it shuts... ;)

Also, you could work your House P favor up and get the Pendant(sp?). It is similar to haste and doesn't wear off until you get in your quest as it is for open areas (non-mob) only.
