Hi there,

So, i'm no WF expert, but i want to build a

20 fighter Pure, that uses twf.

I think wf are TOPS, but my only concern is their low will, coupled with a fighers poor will bonus.

I want to know, do their immunities mean that most of the scary will save stuff will be negated, or are there much worse will type spells and such that a wf will easily succumb to.

My other thoughts were Dwarf and Human, with Human probably being my preferred 2nd choice.

What are your thoughts and/or experiences.

Thanks in advance!

In your entire time leveling from 1 to 20 you'll probably get greater commanded or danced all of 10 times. If that really concerns you then you may want to go a different route. It doesn't concern me in the least, personally.

Don't sweat it too much. There is an enhancement line: Warforged Construct Thinking that will improve your will saves against enchantments but you probably don't even need that.

20 pure fighter only gives you a 10% haste buff for the capstone

you might want to try "The Monster" if you have access to Monk (Monk and FVS cost TP, but also have the best base saves in the game)
http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=172630

6 levels of ranger gives you tempest I, which is the same bonus as the fighter capstone, it also gives you 2 favored enemies (+4 dmg vs each with favored dmg II)

if you dont have Monk, you can use 2 levels of barb for rage (which also gives a will save) and get rid of 2 of the lesser useful feats (quickdraw and imp crit: pokey things)

you will lose kensai III (+1 crit threat range) flanking mastery III (+1 atk when flanking), and superior weapon focus (+1 atk), and 2 action boosts (from kensai III and fighter action boost II)

4 dmg vs favored and rage/evasion (which is really nice) or +1 threat, +1 atk, +1 atk when flanking, and 2 action boosts

Fear, Dance and Command will definitely be an issue, but being immune to holds alone should just about balance that. If it's really an issue, you have the enhancements previously mentioned and Iron Will isn't an awful choice on a pure Fighter. With all that, you should have a decent will save. You can also pick up a Reaver's Ring or Green Steel item to at least remove Fear as a concern. And in the long term, ask for a Spell Resistance from the Cleric. That will give you a decent defense againt all of them.

I am going to TR a WF rogue into a twf WF pure fighter. Low will save is an issue with wf, however with tomes and crafting it can be overcome.

I plan on crafting this cloak(Mind you I am putting saves on crafted items)~

Concordant Opposition
Tier 1~+5 Will save
Tier 2~ Fear Immunity, Poison Immunity
Tier 3~ +2 exceptional will save

Add a +2 wisdom tome

so base 6 + tome=8 + 6 item=14 wisdom on pure WF fighter plus your save item!
Not to shabby for a construct. Also as Flesh stated WF get a will save enhancement line.

Philam - that is such a waste of ingredients.
My Krythan build (in my sig) is a level 20 WF pure fighter.
I run almost entirely epic and end-game content.

As a statement to posts such as this, I'm currently running around with a will save of 5 with no spell resistance. I get held/greater commanded maybe twice a week, for less then 15 seconds each.

There are better things to worry about then will save. DO NOT sacrifice DPS or anything else for your saves on a class such as a fighter.

Agree with this. My WF Fighter Kensai is only lvl 8, he has only been feared twice, commanded twice. Even at low level it isnt worth sacrificing DPS.

If you're worried about being chain commanded (i.e. end fight of DToV), you can always
pick up a Fragment of the Silver Flame. Command in DDO seems to be interpreted as a form
of mental domination.....
WF immunities generally more than make up for the rest.

Or get Greater Heroism for fear immunity and Protection against Evil for mental domination immunity (I think that saves against command and resistable dances, though don't quote me on it).
