Once you complete one or two short quests in Korthos, you get a weapon of Lesser Monstrous Humanoid Bane, such as Lhorne's Blade. Description says "it is especially powerful against sahuagin". Do these Korthos weapons cause extra damage to other monstrous humanoids, such as minotaurs and gargoyles? Or is the idea that "yes, but by the time you tackle minotaurs, you should have a better weapon anyway"?

Yes, the weapon is good against other Monstrous Humanoids but you will find this is not a weapon type you want for later on.

These are the banes I like

Greater Undead Bane
Greater Elemental Bane
Greater Evil Outsider bane
Greater Giant Bane
Greater Dragon Bane

Just check the AH to see what is hot by the prices requested.

The better non bane weapons IMHO
Paralyzer
Vorpal

There are not that many Monstrous Humanoids in the game..

Minotaur
Gargoyles
Wild Men
Sahuagin

I might be missing one, but Lorne's Blade and the like will do extra damage to them. However, by the time you start running into those creatures, you should have a better weapon. It's worth noting that you need a magical weapon to break Gargoyle DR which Lorne's Blade doesn't count as. Some powerful Gargoyle's also require the weapon be Adamantine

Well, I haven't run into any Greater weapons yet, nor could afford any on the auctions. My character is ranger 6, but I love sneaking up on creatures, and the weapon I currently use most is +2 Bastard Sword of Backstabbing -- often in combination with Miasma's Fang. I also carry Lesser +1 Bastard Sword of Undead Bane -- for undead, obviously.

Fixed it for u, there may not be many different types of monstrous humanoids, but there are still quite a few of them scattered around the game. :)

Granite Gargoyles, not sure if bludgeoun is needed againt them too as well as adamantine.
