Hello all. I’ve been giving DDO a look the last week after hearing several good things about the game and I have to say, there are many very impressive aspects to this MMO. Being familiar with the D&D 3.5 rules I already feel fairly familiar with everything after only a few hours.
The thing I was most impressed with was the scripting and the level of detail and quality of the dungeons. So far I have only seen the quests of the starter island from the point of view of several different classes. I have been told by many players that this level of excellence continues through the entire game. Unfortunately, all of this content is old news for most players. I understand why people do not want to take the time to explore and read through the dialog options after seeing the content so many times. However, I find it very boring doing the dungeons on my own so I can take all the time I want.
I went to the DDO guild forum searching for a group of like minded players. Instead I found a link to the Sarlona Dedicated Teams. This kind of group is the closest you can get to the feel of Dungeons and Dragons. An ongoing episodic adventure shared between people you get to know well enough to feel are comrades are exactly what I would like out of DDO.
Is there anyone out there who has recently started a Static Group that I might be able to catch up to? Would there be enough people interested to form a new one? A light or mid bit of role playing could make things even more entertaining, however, I am not particularly committed to any particular set of rules. As of now I’m leaning twords playing an Elven Rogue, but I would be willing to go with a casting class as well. I would be available to play most weeknights or weekend morning / afternoons.
EDIT: Removed broken link.
