I had a halfling pally/monk/sorc that was TONS of fun to play. It was extremely difficult to get into groups however, and he was relegated to solo mode, which he was quite capable of. I got him to 11th level (2/3/6) before scrapping him, but not for the reason you may think....
I rerolled him as a WF, utilizing the racial THF and Toughness enhancements, and sticking mainly with qstaves. I've only leveled him to 5 so far (today actually) as a WF 2pally/2monk/1sorc atm), but he's even MORE fun than the Halfling version. I haven't really tried pugging much with him though, as I expect the same problems.
Final plan is 2 pally / 6 monk / 12 sorc
Be forewarned that you will need A LOT of divine power clickies during the mid levels (and I would assume the later levels as well).
Power attack is basically only for trash mobs unfortunately, even with DP going.
The leveling is slow because of so much soloing and the fact that you have to take your time and body pull quite a bit.... but it's a BLAST!
Final build will offer:
decent AC
decent-to-good saves
400 hp on a melee sorc (with a *few* toughness feats instead of just 1, because you have a couple to spare, and 5 enhancements)
full THF line with enhancements
+14 BAB while centered
self healing along the way (first via wands, then with spells during mid levels, then Reconstruct at high levels)
All in all a BLAST to level up.
I'll repeat a few points here for you:
You'll have a TOUGH time pugging. Denial after denial. Start your own groups or solo.
You'll use a TON of Divine Power clickies in the mid levels.
This was an EXTREMELY difficult build for me to plan out properly.
edit:
Aspenor's build and breakdown include a bunch of gear and buffs for his numbers.
The one's I gave for mine were straight off the line without any mods.
Very similar builds, but with different focus.

Rather than just leaving an empty post from a deletion I'll explain how he works (or how he worked as a halfer.... I'm not there yet as a WF).
Align the heavens -> buff up -> wade into the fray swinging the staff faster via Wind Stance -> THF enhancements and feats help hurt more than 1 mob at a time -> Fist of Light saves SP on healing a little bit -> buffs running low, time to Align the Heavens again -> all of this leaves plenty of SP for healing if needed, fairly-weak-but-still-helpful Walls of Fire to fight in, etc.
Decent AC + decent-to-good saves + blur/displacement + Stoneskin, etc make for a strong defense, and a good HP total for a combat caster doesn't hurt either.
Like I said, just plain fun to play.
*most people will tell you that q-staffs suck. The fact of the matter is that most weapons have similar base damage. The differences between weapons come from their crit range and/or their magical properties, so make sure to always have a number of different staves on hand for a variety of occasions. While the crit range on staffs suck, you can find really good ones on AH for fairly cheap, meaning you should always have exactly the tool you need for the job.
