I've been looking to grind out some plat, and I'm trying to figure out the best places to do it. I'm a lvl 14 ranger "Haneroth" and if it was something I could do solo, or with just 1 extra person, that would be great. So far I've been using 2 main places to do it

Ataraxia rares:
I run these at least once per night. I can do it solo easily, and it nets me about 1000 plat per run, but takes about 15 mins. I've seen some nice stuff drop in those chests. I pulled 2 portable holes out, and I've seen a few guys drop tomes there as well.

Opening part of Xorian
This is my fav because it's such a short trip, but you have to have a helper. What you do is to go in on elite. Once inside, you cast invisibility on both ppl "I picked up a cheap belt of this on the auction house that casts it 3/rest" then haste "also from a clickie" and run past everything up to the temple. Invisibility seems to really help keep you from pulling so many bad guys with you. Run up to the temple entrance, kill the drow scorpions and clean out the skeletons ect that follow you up. Loot the chest, hit the rest shrine, recall out, drop and reform group, rinse/repeat.

Is there some where else that I can solo or maybe run with just one other person to grind loot to sell? Btw I'm F2P with Gianthold being my only pay content

Well, If you have gianthold, there is no reason why you can't make tons of plat farming the rares in the explorer area. Cabal, Feast or Famine and Trial By Fire are also a nice quests you could solo farm very quickly with a lvl 14 (5-10 mins per quest), Quests have chests in them, and you also get a reward at the end of each to AH/Vendor.

You would have to learn the quests fairly well before you could effectivly grind them solo. But as for the explorer area, you could open up an explorer map and just locate all the rares and create a circuit. You could easily farm 100k plat in vendor trash in just about 4 hours + all of the stuff you could potentially put up for auction for more.

If u have the Vale that is the place to go, and Orchard of the Macabre. With a hireling cleric these places are great and not too hard. GH tho has some extremely hard hitting mobs, even moreso than the Vale IMO, and GH is also full of divine casters, which are problematic.

If u only have access to limited areas and do not have the higher level packs yet...definately Ataraxias. That's about as good as ur going to get without adv packs.

Oopsie!!! Sorry just read the last line in ur post......nevertheless...get The Vale!!!! :D

Yeah, Orchard and to some extent the vale are a bit more forgiving in some ways. I personally have grown to love the orchard, as it has been my main solution to cash. Just keep in mind if you do orchard to have some way to deal with wraiths and golems, as there are quite a few of these nasties there. I have found that if you want to take baby steps to farming orchard, a person could stick to the east side for a while, as mobs tend to be at least a bit harder on the west side.

But, as the OP pointed out, he only has Gianthold, and while it may not be the "easiest" way to farm plat, its his best option at this time imo :D

My vote would be mindsunder quests, I have a rich clr now just getting and selling weapons, armor to the vendor. and pulled some nice keepers as well,

They are quick, and with right toon can be soloed.

Flesh Golem DR is Adamantine AND Slashing BTW. And thos guys are nothing, when u get into the infernal part of the map, that's where ur troubles begin :)

Have to kill everything twice, only get credit for one kill, and those Elven assasins or whatever they are trip insanely, and the Infernal Thermatauge can respawn into caster wights that dispel all ur buffs.

OH sorry, I meant to say west side...lol...Farm from directly north of the enterance, and then you can circle around the west side hugging the edges of the map...basically to make it sound easier, run a U shape starting from the enterance and going south, then come back up to where the caravan spawns, then do the crypts north of the spawn point. The EAST side is alot harder than the west side for most people.

cavern, he's level 14, he can't do mindsunder solo or with 1 person.

I assume your from Caverno dragao so I don't blame you for not reading though.

definately the orchard though imo!
