After doing the whole ultimate assassin thingy, I found out that heavy repeating crossbow actually was very nice, so I would like to make a character based only on that. Since heavy repeater doesn't get str bonus and rogues have to be so close to SA, I figured Bard was a good idea... But then... which PrE to choose? Spellsinger or Warchanter?

EDIT: And one more thing: Is the feat Rapid Reload worth taking now, or is it still bugged?

Really depends on what you want from your character. If you start out with a very high charisma, and plan to do some healing and CC you should go spellsinger. The warchanter will require that you both take weapon focus and power attack feats, both of which aren't really what you need when using a repeating crossbow (And you dont really have alot of feats as a bard). It can however still help other people in your group, as well as increasing your own chance to hit.

I'd probably go spellsinger myself, start out with a fairly high dex and a very high charisma. It will make a great "out-of-harms-way" character. You can then both heal a bit on the side, and do CC. The required feats and enhancements for spellsinger are also very useful, and doesnt really emphasize whether or not you should be melee or ranged.
You could also go for halfling for the extra racial +2 dex enhancements, which now actually will be very usefull.

The repeater (or ANY archery weapon, for that matter) sucks. Your assassin seemed good because of the insta-kill option, but that doesn't make the repeater good.
