Currently aiming for a 18/2 Paladin/Fighter 28 pt build (first char) then going to reinc back into paladin for 34 pt.
In the end, I want to be able to tank and solo like how Junts has his Jaerlach build.
Does past life feats matter at all for this? Should I take a different route for my 28 pt build? Or should I just play the **** game (can't really play much until next year b/c I'm out of the country).

I say just play.. if you aren't playing a character that's fun -while you play it- then what's the point?
Admittedly, a 34 pointer makes making a TWF pally a lot easier.. you just have more points to play with.
But since you have to have 32s unlocked to true reincarnate anyway... you might just build yourself a 32 pointer and go with that.

Past life fighter (chosen) would be the best one to get access to, but you'd want to make sure, on your 34 pt roll, to work out your stats correctly to use it (its +1 max dex bonus to your armor, so it could give you +1 ac if you use it right).
As far as the passives go, monk and paladin (1 damage, 5% increased incoming healing) are the best.
Fighter chosen is the best, by far, if you can find a way to make good use of it, but it will require you to plan out all your gear before you even roll the toon.
