Just a curious thought, cure light wounds on a bard are considered arcane or divine? If they are arcane, does the Greater Arcane Lore effect apply to the cure light wounds spell?

I'm not an expert on this subject, but cure spells are divine, however I believe arcane lore items work on both divine and arcane spells.....so it would not matter.
I would check this with someone else tho but I am quite sure I have read before arcane lore works on both spell types.

Arcane Lore applies to all spells, including Cleric and other divine types.
Bard healing spells are arcane. Note that there is a mistake in some of the onscreen DDO advice: it is NOT possible for a wizard to learn every arcane spell. They can't learn arcane cure spells, and they also can't learn Soundburst, Freedom of Movement, Focusing Chant, or Good Hope.

Best way is to ask, "does having armour (medium or higher for Bards) on effect my ability to cast it?" If so, it's arcane and Arcane lore works. If not, then Divine. But generally speaking, Pallys, Clerics, FvS, Rangers are Divine, and Bards, Wizards and Sorcerers are Arcane.

Good idea, will try that out some time when I loot a > medium armour on my bard. :)

Not really, there are arcane spells that dont have somatic component and as such arent affected by aracne spell failure ( Shout for instance). Well at least shouldnt be by D&D, maybe DDO changed it, havent really paid attention to it.

Anything with 'arcane lore' and/or 'potency' is universal, effects all spells. Yes, Greenblade is good for a Cleric or Bard.

Bards are arcane spell casters. They cast cure wounds spells because those spells are on their spell list. Bards also suffer from spell failure on any spell they cast with a somatic (movement) component when wear Medium and up armor and while wearing most shields. Bucklers and light mithril shields are an exception.
and
Wizards can only learn every spell in game that is on their spell list.
What makes a spell arcane or divine?
The class that casts it, is the most simple answer to that question. That is why some spells over lap classes. Bulls strength from example when cast by a wizard is an arcane spell while that same spell cast by a cleric is a divine spell

Bucklers and light mithril shields are an exception.
With bucklers, that isn't 100%. You still have ASF with steel bucklers, though it is typically only 5%. (Learned this on my bard after TRing her.)

hmm.. good catch I must own a mithril buckler and not know it. :)

greater arcane lore applies to all magic, so it works for cleric spells too
however, bard spells are subject to arcane spell failure, though they are modified by exactly the same effects (potency, devotion, etc) as the cleric versions

Someone mentioned Potency is universal. The description of the potency items suggests that it only affects damaging spells although I have heard that it can affect healing spells as well. Any truth to this?

Yes, potency applies to healing spells as well. Think of it this way: a cure or heal spell can do damage when cast against undead, so technically, they are also damage dealing spells.

Potency affects all spells healing and damage based.
Arcane lore is the same.
