My friend just started playing recently and she wants to play an elven cleric. Since I reincarnated into a WF sorcerer I thought a battle cleric build would make our duo more efficient than with a buff/heal cleric. Problem is, I've NEVER played or built a battle cleric and I'm kinda lost as to how to make it...
If anyone can help us build her character it would be very appreciated :)
28 points, elven, I'm not very rich so keep that in mind...I can afford +1 books and decent gear for her but forget the 6 +2 books at level 1 please hehe =p

Elven and 28 point build? That is going to be tough since elves have lousy con to start with. Getting her con and wis to a playable level is going to essentially mean she will be dump statting a few other stats. I say this as someone who runs a capped, elven 28 point build cleric. It took a lot of work to build her up to a point where she isn't too squishy and I don't run her as a battle cleric. She heals, buffs and is an offensive caster.
You sure you can't talk her into another race to start? Either that or I would suggest focusing on buffs, heals and some CC rather than melee. At lower levels, soundburst is good for CC.
Impaqt has some good builds and probably has something you can use.

I assume with battlecleric you mean melee and healing (+plus some buffs and offensive casting). Elves are not the ideal race for building a melee cleric since they do have a low constitution.
Also are Favored Souls an option?
Does she want to use 2 weapons, 1 2 handed, or sword and board? Any information helps.
Oh and even more important, here are some very good catalogs:
Sir Gog's builds: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=156683
Sigtrents builds: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=117232&highlight=request

I know elves were not the best choice hehe
But I want her to play the race she prefers so :)

Yes I meant melee + self buffing + healing herself if needed. Unfortunatly FvS isn't an option, she just started playing so she doesn't have access to it. Sword and shield style.

If she's going sword and shield anyway don't bother with battle cleric. When you get past level 10 she's going to hate the character anyway, because it will be gimped in both melee and casting. Either go TWF, THF, or pure healing. With the recent changes an elven battle cleric using a falchion could be good, but I haven't tried to build one yet so it may require 32 points, not sure.

It doesn't have to be efficient at level 10+ as I am 100% sure she will want to make a drow as soon as she has access to them =P

So you have a woman that wants to play and elf cleric and then give it up for a drow - the worst race in the game for most classes? I'd suggest just trying to find a different woman... it'll make your gaming experience much better. :(

Nope, not an option.

Well sword and board cleric...
1. Stay pure cleric
2. Get your WIS up too at least 16 and then CON 14
3. dump the rest of your points on STR up to 14 and if anything is left on CHA
4. i think you can take the Enhancement Follower Of the blabla Host to get proficency with longswords on first level.
Thats about all i can think of atm.
And btw Drow can make fantastic, better then 32 point builds if you do it right but yes they are not suitable for all classes.

That should do it up to 400 favor I guess, thank you.

Any cleric with a little strength is a battle cleric through the mid-levels. You want to be a stone cold killer with weapons through all levels...yeah, you're going to need to build to it. You want to beat some stuff to death at level 12...take the weapon prof enhancement and cast divine favor (and divine power if your whiffing a lot). Just try and work in toughness and extend into the build...which you'd probably do anyway.

No they can't. The closest is a drow sorcerer, but a 32 point human is still slightly better.
