I've been hacking away at my Paladin, and very much enjoying the class, but I have a real dilemma on skills (I get 2/level) - where to place them? Nothing jumps out asthat compelling - am I being obtuse or is it less than obvious?
For context, I'm planning, ultimately, on a KoTC approach, based on Aranticus' Bastion of light - a 28 point THF Human build - Demon smacking DPS, party supports, buffs, yadda yadda.
Thanks in advance!

Since none of the real good skills (UMD/Balance/Intim) are class skills, it's kind of tough. With 2 points I would go with any combination of the above 3, but that is just me.

Go UMD and Balance or UMD and Jump.. with a decent CHA, and some items, UMD might be worth something some day...

UMD and Balance.
Being knocked over with no way to stop incoming damage sucks (because then you die, and that sucks) and UMD is just awesome, especially with a Paladin's high CHA.

Id do umd and balance with a look at the endgame; morah's belt removes most jump-related issues.

I would agree with Flynn on two of the three,
Balance is important for any class so IMO one of your skill points should go here every level.
UMD is nice as it will expand your spell range by letting you use scrolls for spells that are not usually available to your class. With your higher charisma for a melee this can be quite a boon. I would put my other point here.
Intimidate is nice but with it not being a class skill you just cannot get it to the levels where it would be consistantly useful even with your higher charisma so I would not put any points into it.
The only other one that I would consider is Concentration, for those times when you may have to re-up your Divine Favor or Zeal in the middle of a battle.

My Pally puts em in Balance and UMD, unfortunately I didn't see the value of UMD till to far into this toon. so the True Reincarnated one will be UMD and Balance all the way. (first level will go Rogue to put 4 extra points in both of those as well.

Thanks for the quick responses - UMD and Balance it is!
