I'm going to try the barbarian build they say here. Is it good?

If you are thinking of starting a barbarian, the easiest to build has to be Human or WF, max str and up con as much as possible, and go 2hf. You can't really go wrong. :D

not much can go wrong on a barb with tons of str and con, keep level ups in str tho. the build you linked is out of date, critical rage no longer exists. this means you will want to add cleave to the list on your lvl6 feat choice if not before. that allows you to get frenzied berserker after you get lvl6 which is the replacement for critical rage.

for the other feats you'll want the full two handed fighting line. stun is also great with the high str barbs have. power attack has always been a must have and cleave is in there due to frenzied berserker. toughness is a nice to have, barbs already have a lot of hit points, tho it is nice to get more. improved critical is a must have for lvl9 (twice as many crits!). erm, think thats about it.

enhancements will be similar to the linked build, any thing to add to your dps and make your rages better is nice. extra hit points to give you a massive buffer. don't stress about enhancements though, they are the easiest thing to respec.

humans are nice for the extra feat and Human improved recovery. dorfs are nice for the extra con and axe damage. WF are nice for the extra power attack damage. so just look at the races and see which one you fancy playing the most.

How much improved is the axe dps?
Also, is there anywhere I can get an updated guide.

You'll want to replace toughness by cleave so that you can get the Frenzied Berzerker line of enhancement starting at L6.

If you search the barbarian forums you'll find some builds. There's not a lot of variance in pure barbarian builds, as they are pretty straightforward: pick THF or TWF, get high Str, high Con (and enough Dex if TWF), and you're set. There isn't much room for fancy feats either.

Wait, for one of my starting feats I put toughness? Are you saying I shouldn't have put toughness?

Correct. Although on a human it's less of a problem thanks to the extra feat. What other feat did you pick?

Power Attack

Power Attack
Ok, well it's not an optimal choice to start with, but it's not a big deal. Just take:
L3 - Two-handed fighting
L6 - Cleave (<-- start taking the Frenzied Berzerker enhancements here)
L9 - Improved Crit: slash
L12 - Improved Two-handed fighting
L15 - Greater two-handed fighting

By the time you get to L18 you'll probably have an idea of what you want for your last feat.

(He hasn't even done the tut yet)
So, I'm proably gonna just make another, what do you suggest putting the feats into? And what race?

Human is fine. Otherwise, dwarf is also a good choice.
I would suggest the following order:
L1 THF, Toughness
L3 Power attack
L6 Cleave
L9 Improved Crit: slash
L12 Improved THF
L15 Greater THF

which is actually almost the same except for the first couple levels ;)

If it was me I actually wouldn't take toughness, so as to be able to take Improved THF at L6 and Greater THF at L12, but for a new player, thinking about it, toughness may be a better choice.

tihocan is also a self admitted toughness abstainer, take toughness, you'll thank yourself later.

Max STR and CON you could balance the rest out except for cha which is your dump stat, higher dex and wil will give you a +1 to each worth of saves or so and int will give you more skill points. as for enhancements take all the prerequisites for Frenzied berserker until lvl 6, racial toughness, and barbarian toughness, besides that it depends on what race you get, regardless though take the racial constitution enhancements.

You should look up the DDO character planner which will let you know(after picking all the enhancements you'll need) how many you'll have left to spread around at level 6. That way you know how what you can try out. Enhancement resets only cost 3000gp so don't worry too much about the wrong enhancements.

What about stats and enhancements

Stats on the wiki are fine. As long as you got Str 17+ and Con 15+ you'll be fine. Most players will go for Str 18 / Con 16 on a human.

Enhancements: figure them out by yourself, they are easy to change if you don't like what you got. Just make sure you get Frenzied Berzerker I at L6, II at L12 and III at L18.
