Why not show ALL items in the store, not just the ones your character's level can purchase? The ones you can't purchase should be greyed out or something, with a note saying "must be level 7 to purchase". Or a filter to show ALL or to show just the ones you can buy. Seems like they're missing out on sales if I can't plan on purchasing a level 7 +2 Tome because I don't see it unlocked.
Just show all the items, and for the short-term special items, show when they expire!

Agreed
Where is the bait? The motivation to buy points. No temptation = credit card in pocket.
You could learn a thing or two from QVC...

Why not allow us to buy anything at any level with any character? Of course, I am referring to things already in store, not asking raid loot or things like that to be added.

Sadly, because far too many DDO players have proven themselves incapable of reading comprehension. They decided to limit what you could buy, to only what you could use, to avoid all the help calls from people who purchased stuff thay could not either ever use effectively or could not use until higher level (like +2 tomes). It was almost 100% certain such things would have been happening and would have to be addressed in some fashion.
By limiting the store listings to only things your character can use, this helps to avoid that whole scenario. Think +2 Full Plate for a Wizard for example. Wearing it would horribly gimp your caster, but someone might just see the AC benefit and not read the spell failure chance tied with it.

Weak. Let the market run its course. If someone wants to pay $20 for a VHS tape of 6 minute abs, let them. If they want to pay virtual points, or real money equivalent of a couple of bucks, or less, for **** on DDO....let them. Show me what's available and show me the special offers and when those offers expires.

Yep, if it wasn't for that, we'd see posts about DDO store "scamming" people. Really a good idea from turbine :d

Posted this in a different thread, but think its a better fit here:
Would also like to voice a preference on less restrictions to the store, and a gift option (Would love to see this before xmas). If you have to add a warning/confirmation box when the character or account purchasing can't use the item, a lot of money is being left on the table by not letting us do this. Not to say anything about inconveniencing your paying customers in an attempt to prevent complains that may or may not come.
If you're still worried about people being mad because they bought something they can't use just let purchases from the store be refunded for the points purchases for an hour or day. That way if you find you can't use it you can just return it, no harm no foul.

Disclaimer warnings and caveat emptor is all they need.

That doesnt really help now with people buying VIP status and then crying they cant make a drow, FVS, or 32pt characters what they have done is proably best with people not paying attention to what is written. I seem to remember your being upset about that issue.

Refund idea would cause no end of problems I think it would be a lot more trouble then it was worth it.

I would like to see some mechanism for "gifts" in the store, but the tech for doing that is not trivial. What might be possible is a Points transfer to another account. Much like the in game mail system can send plat from one character to another. Create an in store "mail system" that allows you to attach certain things to a "Store Mail". You could attach only things that are not bound to account. So you could send XYZ a gift of 1000 points for example. The actual money transaction stays with your account and CC, but you are able to send in game points to another. They could make this a Premium/VIP option in the store, and not let F2P access the Store mail system to avoid certain farming techniques.
As for refunds, that is a tricky issue. It seems to have more problems than benefits at this point from what I see.

Perfect example. People that QQ are the one that do not read stuff.
