old icon no longer opens up game

VIP member...havent played in 6 days or so. Tried to start the game like before..turbine launcher comes up instead. Normally I use the icon that loads the log in /patcher screen for DDO....now the launcher opens up. My old LOTRO account has the play button available (that account isnt active) but the DDO section of the launcher just prompts me to download the game, which I have already done seeing how as I have been playing for more than a month.

Did something change in the last 6 days or so?

well...left the launcher open all day while at work...been 14 hours now...still says download manager is being updated but No play button in sight. Dont need to download..already have game installed......very strange.
