View Full Version : Broken Past Life Feats

Lets start a list (Hopefully a short one).
1) Past Life: Rogue. This currently does give +2 to saves vs. traps, but the +1 to sneak damage is not being applied, or possibly is not stacking with the rogue sneak damage enhancement (or even worse, the natural rogue sneak attack feat).
How I tested: For traps, I stood in a trap on a lvl 2 rogue with a +6 reflex save. Without any other feats or enhancements, I was getting rolls of 1d20+8 to save vs traps, so this part seems to work fine. As for the sneak attack damage, the same rogue (1d6 natural SA) with one tier of SA damage (+3), and a past life as a rogue (+1 damage) should have generated sneak damage of 1d6+4, or 5-10. I was getting 4-9 consistently through over 200 observed sneak attacks. Bug reports will be filed in the morning, I had to log off for bed.
Anyone else find a flaw in their past lives?

Considering how half the capstone enhancements are still broken, for the mean-time, I wouldn't count on past life feats actually working as intended.

Lies, they're not on the known issues list, so they're not broken....
But it does suck that it seems they pushed out True Reincarnation, with broken feats already..... Jeeeezz..... :o

I was a past life rogue reincarnated as a ranger. I thought with a sneak weapon I would see that plus one, but I do not :(

I took the Healing Word past life feat on a reincarnated clr -> ftr and it works just fine. In fact, it works better than expected as it's more like 1d2+2 per 2 char levels instead of the advertised 1d4. It's also effected by devotion and metamagics, so with sup dev I & 20% healing amp I'm healing 5x a day @ ~60 hp per cast at lvl 16.
Maybe it's not worth a feat on a non-ftr/mnk/wiz, but it works well for this chars intermidiate life. My only complaint is that the free passive feat for clerics is useless to anyone who doesnt reinc a clr into another clr.

Well that would actually be somewhat consistent with the rest of the Cure Spells, which instead of a D8 base are actually more like a D6+2 when you roll Cure spells.

Fixed that for you. There’s a bunch of useful arcane spells on the Conjuration spell list (http://compendium.ddo.com/wiki/Category:Conjuration_Spells)

Yeah, useful for a caster, just sucks it's not useful for a cleric. (The part it affects for clerics is already worthless!!!!)
It should be something like +5% healing boost ... c'mon meow turbine.

In regards to the Past Life: Rogue sneak attack damage, I noticed that the +1 to sneak attack damage kicked in at level 4. I don't know why this would occur, but this is what I have observed.
