Stealth-Monk?

Sooooo....
Last night I unlocked Drow [yay me!].
My Main is a pure monk elf [2-headed heron path] and I've enjoyed playing the class so far. I'm soloing quests at my level [7] on normal or hard & in PUG's I tend to end up tanking. Lately though I've become more and more annoyed by my complete inability to detect most traps/secret doors without resorting to a clicky or [ugh] a hireling [...and don't even get me started on locked chests & doors].
So how viable would a drow monk w/maybe a dash of rogue be for soloing?

[BTW, veteran noob here, joined originally not long after the game went live, played for a few months, quit due to issues w/my ISP. Came back a month ago & loving every minute of it so far.]

I'm starting a similar build right now, and I've PUG'd with monk/rogues in the past who were very effective.

I took first level rogue and all the rest monk. I went human for the human clickies that give a +5 to skills (cause I didnt go all rogue). BUt with tweaking my abilities I am able to pop all traps and search just as high as a dps rogue my level...with the added ac and stunning fist/quivering palm hes a good front line fighter and to top it off I kept points in my umd and can throw self buffs or raises when needed...super solo/utility belt of abilities
