Good server to start?

Just recently came back to the game and was wondering about Sarlona server. Good server to come back to? Starting from scratch any downsides... Thanks

Try the Brand new server. Everyone's starting there with absolutely nothing. That way you're in the exact same boat as everyone else :)

Dont mind starting with nothing... Just looking for a friendly place to learn and grow. My son is playing with me as well.

It's not that the free plat is Khyber's only selling point. It's also a very friendly atmosphere, I've only met 4 rude people since playing, and I play around 20 hours a week.

but if not for the free plat then... lol j/k. I like all the players I have meet on all the servers. I'm sure there will be some on the opposite side... Just didn't want to join and level on a sever with a failing economy, gimp server times etc.

All servers are really about equal as far as the people. If you want to be on a similar level with everybody else then I would go with the new server. There will be a lot of people racing to the top and many group oppurtunities. The new vet status will bring an influx of new level 4's all around. But really any server you pick is going to be just fine.

I play on Kyber and Argo, Both are the same. Some people just try to be more loyal. No free women/men or coins :(. There are nice helpful people on both. There are also bad people on both.

Sarlona has many International players and thus has LFMs around the clock. And while we do have private user chats that people use to make groups, I find that Khyber while everyone for the most part is very nice, has less high Level LFMS since F2P started--at least during my playtimes. From what I was told they have a larger user chat guild aliance type thing than Sarlona.

good point... playing CST myself... from around 4pm through midnight everyday... well when my wife lets me... Weekends change some but mostly all day. I have no life except my coffee, smokes, and computer. I like to raid and heal btw...lol.

Sarlona has many LFMs up during those times. I am not familiar with other servers, but I believe you will find that all of the servers are now well populated due to the vast influx of free-to-play people.

There is nothing failing about Sarlona that I can tell. I have been splitting time between running my lowbie favored soul and end game stuff and all groups seem to be quite helpful. Granted I have been spending much of my time in primarily guild groups, but on the occasions I have PUGed, I haven't had too much to complain about.

Khyber has international players too, but most of ours are across the pond in the UK, or in the Australia/New Zealand region.

What happened to all those drama threads there? Those see the world and Join Kyhber and the Kyhberians and get embroiled in drama from the moment you set foot in Snowy Korthos ads?!?:eek:

Seriously, if you are coming back and have some characters with some levels and gear, stay with your current home. All the servers have plenty of activity on them, the money situation is what it is, EXCEPT for the Cannith Server, new as of DDO:EU release in Septemeber and Orien, New as of YESTERDAY.

I started out on Sarlona and even though I had a lull period where I tried others Ive come back to play. I think this server is underrated on how diverse and fun it is. Besides the international population that was mentioned I think Sarlona has a little bit of everything. From Dungeon crawlers, Roleplayers, Perma-deathers and Power gamers. If you have a play style I think this server is your sure shot even as a new player to find a group.

I hope you do find a server you enjoy and if you do find yourself running on Sarlona look me up :) I have an alt at just about any level now.
