ok so when you port to town, you can select the other stuff (hey i got a lvl 2 maelstrom, but still)

it's a bit weird, the way it does it. That's probably more than a little confusing for people.

Get my starter gear ok cool. wait a dagger.??? w t f ??? ok w/e.. get to town.. ohh now i get the base fire weapon choice list.

seems a bit odd

***left original post in anyways***

Just created a new toon, veteran status: start at lvl 4

lvl 4 fighter (20 str w/ enhancements)

Went to get my gear, selected the only one available (fighter gear)

WHY AM I STARTING WITH A FREAKING DAGGER?

Shouldn't it be a little intuitive?

give me a sword or something? (wanted that fire greataxe) I took the THF feats and got have weapon focus slashing.

are the fire weapons no longer in game if you take vet status?

my rogue doesn't even use a dagger.

is this a bug?

My thought is that, for some reason.. more technical then anything else, is that it would cause alot of issues to make the character creation give different things to new characters. (Outside the quest rewards from the grotto, since they are not from the character generator) And they would likely and most likely correctly assume, that once a character with 1000 favor, would easily be able to get a better lvl 4 weapon/armor for the lower character, in thus a waste of time trying to code new item spawns for Vet creation characters. *shrugs* In all honesty.

Most people who can unlock vet status would not be caught dead using the starter weapon at level 4. Send it a level 4 handme down.

He he, ya got it wrong. Most with even a lvl (5-7)+ wouldn't be caught dead with starter gear at lvl 4. XD

I agree.

Well, you get a +1 Flaming Weapon instead of Masterwork Flame Touched.

I like that they let you select which weapon after the fact to allow some variety in characters.

I will admit, they've made the flaming weapon into a 1d6 flame damage, which is real nice.

but yeah, like i said, i've got a maelstrom which i'll rock for a bit.

Would be logical to move that weapon giver into where you recreate your toon (on the ship)
