You expect too much from turbine. Closing the Shroud is a favorite pastime in Westwood.

This was system maintenance, nowhere did they indicate that they wer making software changes. My best bet is the software fix was the one scheduled for Friday which they cancelled.

They don't fix things during maintenance. You've been around long enough to know that.

it was not suppose to be cancelled it was moved to monday

No, it was canceled, with no expected date on when it'd be back. This downtime was never supposed to be anything other than routine maintenance.

"UPDATE: The maintenance has been postponed. We will bring more information when it has been rescheduled.

The DDO Game Servers are tentatively scheduled to be brought down on Friday, October 30th from 7:00 - 11:00 AM Eastern (-5 GMT) for a hotfix. Thanks for your patience, and we'll see you back in the game soon!"

Seeing as how they've posted nothing to read - no.
But - Hey! We've got those wacky psionic illusionists back in the Marketplace! If that's not a silver lining, then I just dunno what is!!!
(I hear if you play Dark Side of the Moon in reverse at 3/4ths speed, it matches up with their show exactly!)

HAH! Soon... Your kidding me right?
We haven't been able to play for MORE THAN A DAY, they stopped the game because they want to fix a stupid quest which they could probably work on fixing and keep the rest of the game on at the same time. Most of the people who play probably don't even know or CARE what this is and just want to go and play. What is wrong? And furthermore, Turbine doesn't give us a single update about when they thing that they will be done, that's right, no ETA. For all we know, it could take a million years! All they do is sit there without letting us know what is going on. If you search in the forums for this topic, most of the topics about this are somewhere at the end of the list or not there. Turbine's service is sloppy and i think they need to get their game together before people start getting mad. And remember, I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR SHROUD QUEST WHATEVER IT IS!

Other than that, enjoy the new server! =D

ok its obvious you just recently joined the game so here goes..

HI Welcome to DDO. DDO is an online game that does require maintenace fixes and other updates to keep the game in good condition. Oh and just in case you didn't know as i am aware you aren't seeing as how your join date was oct of this year, Turbine does close down quests (even the ones your unknowledgeable self doesn't know) so that people are getting caught in situations that would hender their gaming experience.

They also are not able, as you so assumed, to fix quests or any other particular bug while the game is running because that deals with actually going into the code itself to figure out what is causing the problem. Turbine service is not that sloppy, while they do not give you a play by play on what is happening they do try to inform us of what is going on and that they are working to fix said problem.

Now granted if you were in a quest where you couldnt complete or something happened that completely screwed you over you would be about as angry as you seem in this outrageous post...maybe even angrier. So you would want to make sure that this bug or whatever it was got fixed so it didn't happen to you again.

The shroud is one of the most run and well known raids of this game so for those of us who "care about our shroud quest or whatever it is" we would like to see the issue resolved so that we can get back to our fun gaming experience and long time grinding fest for stuff to make our characters more "uber."

So please before you go ranting about things you don't know diddley about please refrain from wasting our time with your uneducated rants.

Ok but why can't they just allow everything else to be playable and not let anyone do shroud until it is fixed?

everything is playable atm except for the two quests they brought down for specific issues. in fact im currently playing as we spe...err...read? type? something to that effect.

Huh??? Really??? How come Turbine Download manager is opening for me when I click on DDO then?? Whats happening??? NOOOOO I hate it when sumthing goes wrong. Does anyone know why it would open Turbine Download manager?
