Let’s discuss this build. It is a Healing Intimitank. My goal was to create a versatile intimitank with high survivability without giving up much healing. This build does NOT have any blocking DR. I know that will gimp the intimitank aspect in quests like TOD. The question is, when intimidate fails do you think the healing will suffice? I have a macro that allows me to tumble back and forth, therefore being able to utilize mobility and ocean stance’s +6 AC when not casting, without moving the mobs, or while running them through blade barrier solo.
A lot of people will take offense to combat expertise. I have done this before on a cleric/fighter intimitank prior to implementation of the monk class. It worked very well. I didn’t have CE active very often, but I did use it to enough affect to warrant spending a feat on it.

I would like some other veteran’s opinions on questions like these:
With empower, maximize, and quickened mass cure serious and critical - how badly do you think I will miss Mass Heal?
Is taking extend even worth it for a Favored Soul?
With 90 max ac how badly will I miss blocking DR?

Instead of focusing on the shortcomings of the intimitank side of the build I would rather focus on the shortcomings of it’s healing potential. I don’t think I have sacrificed too much healing to gain the high saves and ac, along with intimidate and UMD. What do you think? What critical thing is this build lacking as far as healing? Experienced healers and intimitanks, I look forward to your constructive criticism!

Thanks!

I'll put in one thought since you asked. No you won't miss having mass heal. My 20 fs doesn't even have it and she does fine with healing raids.

I have the same but as a cleric. I don't have CE, may change that later. I have spot/search/disable, even if I barely use it currently. I would increase Int to 14/15 and get the ability to trapsmith at the cost of 2 dex and 1 str. Remember if you have 40 wisdom you don't need max spot, and with find traps you don't need max search either. 10 or so in each will suffice. Makes a highly versatile support character.

I looked the build up in your profile. Looks solid. I plan on about the same gear. I guess it wouldn't hurt to lose a point of AC. I would then be tempted to pick up open lock as well. How do you feel about your build's healing ability? What about extend? Useful or no? Probaly better on a Cleric as you have more room for buffs.

Lower spell points from multiclassing hurts the healing in longer fights, but use scrolls/pots to supplement.
Shroud=wouldn't go in as sole healer at 16, maybe at 20, since I figure it only to take one round on normal.
Hound=can scroll doggies to help conserve, never had a issue
Vision=normally playing orthon/devil intimidater, minimizing healing needed
Sorjek=with good dps, no pots needed
TOD=have not done yet

Maybe one day I might pull icy and torc, and some of the other items I am trying to spec out in. I will be updating the build soon.

Just adding open lock numbers:
4 base at level 1
15 item
7 tools
6 dex
5 boost
4 gh
1 prayer
1 open lock I
43+d20=63 possible

Nice, Creeper. My jaw kind of dropped when I saw the exact class split as my hybrid, different goals, different end results but I like the path you chose.

Is this purely theoretical or have you brought it up a few levels? (Or even capped?)

Thanks!
It's only level five right now. I started it this afternoon, duoing with a friend. So far it is working great. Highly twinked, using two vicious kamas. I'll depend on melee dps for a while - probaly until blade barrier comes along - then will switch to vorpal, maladroit and cursespewing, shattermantle/cursespew etc. to swing around when I am not healing. I'll pick up empower and cure mod next level, then I should be able to maintain a group.

I am interested to see how glancing blows effects this build as an intimitank. I probaly won't know till around level 14. I may have to experiment with different types of DR, keeping sheild spell active. The good thing is that even without intimidate on harder difficulties it should work fine as an overly tough healer.

How are you getting those skill ranks so high when UMD and Intimidate are not class skills for a FvS? Also to get that high an AC it seems to me you will have to give up too many other great equipment choices as well as feat/emhancement choices. I think you will end up gimping your other abilites just for AC. You will avoid being hit, but then what?

UMD and Intimidate are class skills for a rogue.

What other feat and enhancement choices do you think I am "gimping" on to get my AC? The whole point of this build is to avoid being hit and to heal people. It also has a high spell DC.

The only thing I see that I am giving up is melee dps and spell pen, neither of which I am even slightly concerned about, considering the goals of the build. Being an Intimitank kinda requires you to gimp other things to avoid being hit. As long as my healing ability is not noticably gimped I am happy.
