Question: The Cursed Crypt

I've just finished doing the first four pre-requisites for the quest, but before I want to get a group started for The Cursed Crypt, I just want to be sure of some things.

1. I was told that if i completed this quest I would have to do all four prerequisites again before I can redo The Cursed Crypt.

2. I was told if i completed the quest but DID NOT upgrade my trinket, I could repeat it again so long as I nevr upgraded my trinket.

3. I was told that after completing the first four pre-reqs, I could redo this quest as many times as I'd like to, so long as I did not pick up any of the pre-req quests again.

4. I was also told that if I picked up any of the prereqs after completing, that I'd not only have to do that one pre-req quest I picked up, but ALL FOUR of them before I can get back into The Cursed Crypt.

Can anyone tell me how much of this is true, as I've seen people loot run this and dont know how if 1 and 2 are true?

False. Having someone in your group finish the quest is what "completes" it, not whether or not your character uses the altar at the end.

Many people who do it as loot runs have an alt or friend who never finishes the quest, just joins the group to open the door.

still curious though, would that mean i'd have to go through the pre-requisites again, or am I good to repeat this as many times as I'd like?

Cursed Crypt is the only one of the necro crypts you DO NOT have to re-do the prereqs to repeat.
This is one of my all time favorite quests.

But be careful you don't reset the quest chain, because then you'll have to re-do the 4 pre-reqs.


Also, you can do all 3 upgrades for your trinket in this quest which is very handy. Especially since you don't have to re-do the pre-reqs.

#1 and #2 are not true.

#3 is true - you can repeat The Cursed Crypt immediately after completing it without having to do the pre-reqs. This is how people quickly and easily farm it for named items.

Regarding #4, I have been told that if you want to do any of the pre-reqs again (for favor perhaps), that you would then have to do all four pre-reqs, but haven't tried it myself because I usually just hit the pre-reqs for elite favor once to never have to do them again (despite the unmitigated joy that is the Tomb of the Tormented).

#4 is true. Any time you take one of the pre-reqs for favor, you have to do them all before you can get back into the crypt. I just completed my silver flame favor on my sorc and had to re-run the awful awful pre-reqs.
