On Monday, Oct 26, I posted a +3 Adamantite Longsword and a +1 Flaming Falchion of Tendon Slice.

I checked my mail today, my Falchion was returned.

However, my Longsword was not returned. Nor was there any money from someone buying it.

Thanks!

Actually I had TONS of stuff on auction. I went on holidays for several days so I couldnt check my ingame mailbox. I returned today just to find that everything was gone (my last auction posts were from oct, 22nd and scheduled for 3 days). Is this some kind of bug or are itmes and gold just supposed to dissappear in case you dont check your mailbox in time? If this is not intended I might have a similar problem like Lao.

same here,
had a lot of stuff on auction house. I posted it the other day before the new patch. and after a couple of days I returned to find nothing. I have no mail with my items and nothing on auction. I am unsure about how many items I had but it was almost 1 and a half tabs worth of items from my backpack. Anyhow, mostly it was junk loot, but still worth a bundle and I don't appreciate losing out on 100k plat worth of junk.

I got a similar problem, i had a lot of items in my mailbox, 2+ weeks left to deletion
but when i get in after the upgrade i lost all my mailbox even the messages from favor gained.

I lost a lot of items that i want to re-post into auction house.

And also i lost all the items that i had posted in auction house.. i cant remember all of them.. but was a lot of them too :(

Some official response on this would be encouraging. Obviously there are a lot of people who lost stuff in the ingame mail with the Patch. What interests me the most: Is there any chance we get our plat and items back???

an official response would be nice, the only thing I've gotten out of the in-game GM is that they can't help me, he told me to check the forums and closed my in-game ticket. Obviously the in-game fellas haven't told the out-of-game fellas the problem, or maybe they just aren't concerned enough to answer.

About 10 items from the AH and either a chainmail shirt or pp back from bid seem to be missing from my mail. In addition all my previous mail from favor and award were missing also. Will check back to this thread as my searches turned up no other post on this issue.

Hopefully there will be a response as to what we should do.

Saw this it it seemed different to the others. You say your old mail was gone as well? How long had it been in the inbox for? Unopened mail only stays there for 2 weeks before being returned to sender. Opened mail is only 5 days so i am guessing your old mail just auto deleted after the time ran out. Unopened auction mail is deleted rather then being returned to the AH after the time is up.

Cmon read the posts before you come up with a suggestion like that. Many ppl state that mail was gone long before the storage duration expired.

Ok, so now this happened again. Didnt check my ingame mailbox for 4 days and again: Completely empty - no gold, no items. I had more than 10 auctions that were scheduled to end within this period.

It would really be NICE if Turbine could LOOK INTO THIS. Cause this is really getting annoying. I dont know how many Ks of plat I have already lost but if you would get that stuff I already lost from the DDO-Store that would sum up to a nice amount of $.

So really TURBINE, this is a problem that needs to be FIXED!!!

The auction house had just returned the items - my initial subscription letters and initial award letters were close but still had a couple of days left on them.

I put a ticket in last night but did not get a reply back. Will check later tonight. I guess if it is still happening then I shouldnt have added more items to the AH either. If those get deleted I will feel pretty stupid for getting bit twice.

Happened to me just the other day too. I've a thread around here somewhere. I thought it was because my mailbox was full, apparently not.

I've also heard people talk about it ingame.

Seems it's a pretty widespread problem then.

I'm amazed you even got the falchion. Mail has a time limit of about.. 2 weeks. Once that period is over, it is GONE.

Someone probalby bought the sword before the time out, and you missed out because 2 weeks passed.

mail is not bankspace/perm storage.

Emm... given what others are saying... it may be that todays maintance also fobared the mail settings as well. Put in hot tickets and find out. But OP, you really were pushing the two week period. I hate to say it, but you are probably sol.

my ah mail was in for a total of about 4 days from when it didn't sell on the ah... no reason for it to disappear.

And AGAIN: This thread is not about people extending the 2 weeks storage period. There has been a serious issue with items/gold dissappearing from mail after update 1. Did you even bother to look, when the OP wrote his message? Just in case you are too busy to scroll up: it was oct, 30th. Where I live thats slightly less than 2 weeks...

Check the attitude and read the quote in the post. I reffered to this one not the others. It was a suggestion for him, not the other posts.

I've lost at least 5 items so far in the auction house, worth probably about 1,000pp so far (not much cash to the vets, but a lot to me, just starting out). After seeing this thread and talking with a few other people, I opened a ticket with Turbine.

I spoke with a GM about it and discovered that that most of the items I listed on Saturday didn't even show up in the server logs! My ticket was escalated to their engineers, so with any luck, they can hunt down the problem and get it fixed for good.

Bottom line, Turbine knows about it now... as to what it will take to fix it is anyone's guess.

I got a response from Turbine - a little vague on what their plans were to fix the bug, but at least confirming that there is/was some sort of bug in the mail system as it pertains to the auction house. They may have already fixed the bug: I ran a couple dozen (simultaneous) items at the auction house with no glitches (I do keep better records now, though).

They handled my bug report satisfactorily, providing reasonable compensation for my lost items. They treated me like a VIP, which is what one would probably expect as a paying customer. :)

This whole thing did get me thinking about proper support etiquette. I used to handle front line support for an ISP back in the old days and these statements are valid when calling almost any support line.

1. Be a paying customer
2. Be polite
3. Research your problem the best you can, know your issue well
4. Follow procedure, submit a ticket, don't just gripe about it on the forums
5. Listen to the GM's questions carefully
6. Be polite!
7. Don't expect an immediate response, but politely follow up on specified deadlines
8. Don't assume you are entitled to compensation for your troubles
9. Stow the attitude, support techs get enough of it already - you have no idea unless you've been there!
