i got a VIP account and ti said "access to all classes" was included

so i clicked on Favored Soul during character creation and it wanted me to "buy"

i figured "ok this is just a game mechanic" but when i clicked on the buy and went through it said i didnt have enough points...

and BTW im supposed to get 500 a month free points and DIDNT

whats the deal here

why am i getting RIPPED OFF???

Read the small print, it says it doesn't include some premium classes and races. You don't get drow or FvS for free. I know, deceptive advertising, they really should be more clear.

The 500pts should show up in a couple days when they bill your credit card.

The Favored Soul is a favor-based reward for everyone, VIPs included. It even says such on the VIP page (http://www.ddo.com/vip) - that some races/classes require unlock to play. You can chose to bypass this favor requirement by buying them from the store - just like some other ones like Drow.

As far as the points go - I know that Turbine is still shaking out the bugs with that. I'd contact them directly to see what can be done to speed that along.

yeah, I was pretty bummed when I discovered it myself. But no biggie, not worth getting all worked up.

You probably missed it when you were reading the F.A.Q and Documentation and Onsite info and the manual. To be fair, it is kinda fine print.

As for VIP points, there have been some issues, though contacting support (At least in mine and many others experience) resolves it rather quickly so long as they have actually processed your charge.

Hope it works out for you.

seriously i READ ALL THAT STUFF and yeah i must have missed the fine print not to mention it says "all classes *"

*some game mechanics may apply for classes and races

but it says 'purchase' under free and premium account

that they worded it DIFFERENTLY tells me that there is some DIFFERENCE in the nature of aquisition of these classes and races from the free and premium. i honesly feel like i was TRICKED into paying for something that i would have payed for to begin with if they were UP FRONT with the fact that i really would get much less for my VIP status. only difference is that now that they have NOT been honest i won't be renewing... good job, you've lost a customer (since Asheron's Call 2) because of your fine print

Calm down.

They are available for free. You just need to get 2500 favor first.

So go play some other class and have fun.. Then make the uber favored soul when your ready.

It's an advanced class so it has advanced requirements to unlock.

That or cheat by shelling out $$$$$$.

It's not Turbines fault, my fault or the internets fault you decided to assume what was included with what you purchased. If you read it, you KNEW there was a catch...but YOU didn't bother to find out what the catch was.

As for Favored Souls, you are in the same position as every single other player - VIP, premium or free. You either buy the class in the store or you unlock it via favor for free. But as a VIP, you have a far easier time unlocking favor rewards.

And this is why i dont become a VIP

You wont become VIP because you're too impatient to wait for billing to process a couple days and so you'll jump to conclusions that Turbine wants to rip you off? Please.

its worded differantly cause as vip you can make monks without buying them, thats why theres the little asterix cause not all classes are given for free even if you pay

Anyone can either purchase the Favored Soul class in the Turbine Store, or earn 2500 Favor total to unlock Favored Soul.

Anyone can either purchase the Drow race in the Turbine Store, or earn 400 Favor total to unlock Drow.

So yeah, you DO get access to certain classes and races for free, but you have to earn them in-game. You don't expect to get a Vorpal weapon automatically, just because it's available in the game, do you?

Also keep in mind that if you buy them with TP those things are unlocked on all servers for that account. Whereas if you unlock them thru favor it is only unlocked on that server.

Yeah, they really haven't done anything wrong in regards to FvS. The exception for classes you can unlock for free via game-play is well noted on all ads I've seen.

Now, Artificers, on the other hand, that can't actually be unlocked for free via game-play... but that's already been discussed ad nauseum.

Chances of this being a new person who is really asking this question and not a troll looking to stir up the same old arguments..............I'd put it at less than 2%.

I think the 2% is being optomistic on your part. Theis same person has revived at least three two year old threads with similar content abd said in one that he did it because he was bored.

lol ah, yeah maybe it was a little high. I didn't do the research on it! Just a number I pulled out of my collapsed portable hole.
