So I keep hearing these people spout off about Druids being in the upcoming Mod. I keep saying I have not heard anything about it, but they insist they have read it. I have scoured(sp?) the forums looking for any indications that this a true and have come up with nothing. Is this BS, like I think it is? Or is there any truth to it?

A long time ago, in an interview far, far away, they let slip that half-orcs and druids would be in an upcoming mod. I seem to recall that they were shooting for half-orcs in mod 10, with druids in 11, but I do not recall any promised releases, just vague goals. The interview was from Ten-Ton Hammer, I believe and was around the time of Mod 8.

In a subsequent interview they said druids were out. In a recent interview they said half orcs were the next race IF enough people bough monk, WF, and FvS in the store.

the 10 ton post was kate saying that they planned on having a few things by the end of 09 but, that was when they planned on having ddo:eu come out in the first qurter of the year too. so imo i would think if any of that is going to be coming along it probably wont be for a few more months maybe 2 updates from now. but thats just my thought on it by what was said and how it has gone down

What's being previewed on Lamannia is not a new "Mod."
It's a Mod "update"
i.e. Mod 9.1.
I would think we would see said changes in Mod 10 or 11, as some others have already posted.
For now, let's be happy that the first major update to Mod 9 / EU is already on the way less than 2 months after the Mod release.

This is incorrect the term mod is no longer valid, mods don't exist anymore. They are now referred to as updates, and this is update 1, and it is equivalent to a mod, there will not be a mod 10 nor was EU mod 9. Basically the game has relaunched and Updates refer to a major update with new content. The content(quests) itself is now referred to as an adventure pack. This allows them to release an update and put as many adventure packs as they want as a subset of the update. Update 2 is scheduled for early next year.

The last DDO Update release was called "Module 9" in Europe.

You are right.. it is time to deliver.. BUT we have to give them SOME time to deliver and the newest update coming up is not to shabby an update. If you want Druids, Half-Orcs and or Half-Elves it may take some more time. the very fact that they are not waiting that long between updates again is a GOOD thing too.

Here is the eulogy direct from Fernando himself
A Module by Any Other Name
A question we have heard you ask in a few different ways is “Why are ‘Modules’ now called ‘Updates’? What’s the difference?” This is a good question. Let me try to explain a little more about the terminology, and the reasons behind the change.
One distinction we’d like to make is the difference between publishing of a new version of our software and the release of new content or game features. Changes to our software can include bug fixes or even underlying changes to code to improve the way the game runs. New content and features can include things like quests, items, or other fun activities we’ve added to the game. In the past, software changes and content additions always had to happen at the same time, but that will not necessarily be the case going forward thanks to some new technology we’ve been utilizing.
Previously, the term ‘Module’ was also used interchangeably to talk about the new content or the software patch, and we wanted to be able to talk about an update separately from the introduction of a new adventure pack when applicable. After all, not every software change involves new content, and not all new content involves a software change for us these days.
With DDO Unlimited, things will work a little differently than before. You will see us introducing new features, content and store items at times between our “Updates.” Some of these will be small and others more meaningful, but this is all part of our plan to keep new things appearing in the game on a regular basis.

Mod...Update...same thing. The only reason they insist on switching names proably has something to do with them marketing DDO:EU as a new game instead of a re-build. EU was Mod 9 and "Update 1" is Mod 10...just depends on how you wanna look at it.

true but you will never hear Turbine call it mod 10 in the U.S. so might as well be consistent

I am not holding my breath on druids, at least not anymore. It's something I would have really really liked to see, but it's not something I would expect to see before 2011, if at all.
Last official word if I remember correctly was that while they were not officially canceled they were officially put in the back burner. Way back.

Without digging up the article, there was one interview when DDO:EU was announced wherein Kate said Druids would come depending upon how the DDO Store went. If players bought the races and classes, then it would be feasible to bring Druids on.
So, want Druids? Start buying FvS, Warforged, Drow and any new class or race they have coming soon (Half-Orc, Half-Elf).

Ours WAS called Mod 9 true.. but it was shortened from Module 9 though.. as us Americans DO do that once in a while.. so instead of telling another person to go play in Europe like it is a bad thing.. and the fact that we have gone from "mods" to "updates" is ok. Updates mean content updates to me this is ok. fixes will come too.

Yeah I remember that interview very clearly. They didn't keep their promise and I left the game. Here I am now tho'. Let's hope we can see those races soon as Drow and Monk are always on best sellers list so far.

You might not, but many of us Euro players post here.
That said, this is the US forums, not the EU forums, so I'm perfectly fine with you talking about Update 1 instead of Mod 10 (which is our name for it). The education system over here is good enough for us to be able to subtract 9 :)
