Ive ran into this problem a few times and its kinda frusterating..

Ive been playing in a long long dungeon,, sometimes 2-3 dungeons into a giant quest and ive had to go afk for a bit. Im not talking 2 hours.. but 10-15 mins a couple times and when i return im logged out and failed quest and such..

Is there some way to stay logged in for longer than just a few mins if something comes up? Sometimes the door, or other unseen event. But even though its only happened a couple times its kinda bummed me out.

any suggestions?

Download and install xumouse. When you know you're going to be away for a bit turn it on.

Is there any " game rule " against AFK? if not.. put a coffee cup on the "move forward" key while facing a wall might do that. or the left or right key to just spin might do it either. If there is a rule agains this. Disregard all of what I said.. I've never tried cuz when I'm on DDO... I rarely leave.. even to BIO!

f2p logs out after 10mins
premiud after 20
vip after 60

easy solution: buy something out of the shop :) then its 20mins

F2P get a very short inactive window
Premium gets a slightly longer one
VIP gets the longest (1 hr I believe)

And sometimes "running into a wall" works, other times it figures out what you are doing and logs you anyway.

ohh 20 mins... well i supose buying vip for a month has upgraded me.. thats wonderfull..

20 mins should more than cover any of my needs to go afk for an emergancy..

I would advised using a continuing emote like dance, LFH, or sit. I have been able to stay logged in for an hour while cooked dinner using these. A coffee cup on your forward button!? That sounds like a keyboard fail waiting to happen!

Meh - coffee cup - I always use a candle when I go afk:

I'd be willing to bet that any outside prog designed to get around a game mechanic falls under that "Ex" word, and could cause ya some trouble if they figure it out.

My system is to tell my youngest to go tap my spacebar every little bit. Makes her giggle to make my char jump, and keeps me logged in. Win win. ;)

What a great baby sitting tool. Maybe when she gets a little older, let her press the mouse button to swing you sword :)

/lfh (looking for ham) seems to work for me in short term instances (10-15 min.)
