Question about Guilds

Yesterday I was doing Shan To Kor with two other people. I had my chat filter set to group only. Upon leaving the dungeon I inspected myself to see what my new armor looked like and see what the buff status said. Surprisingly I noticed it said Guild - Sacred Shadows. I typed /who Bahut and it showed that I was in this guild.

I switched back to general chat and theres all this guild chat, and I scrolled up to see that someone had accepted me to the guild.

Now I had never applied, or asked to join this guild. How is it possible that some random guild would recruit me without my permission ? Does the game allow this to happen ?

No it does not as far as I know.

Accidents could happen... such as if you were about to click on a door the same time someone sent a guild invite you could have 'quick clicked' on the guild invite without even knowning it.

At the very least, if you don't want to be in the guild you can always leave it.

You shouldn't be able to randomly get in a guild without going through the Yes/No dialog first.

My guess is that you were invited once, and accidentally clicked on it just as it appeared (making it seem as if it never appeared).

EDIT: Durr I was reading an other thread whilst this one was open, post above wasn't there xd.

Also people can send you ''Recruit Sigils'' which are basically guild invitations in an item.
This is most likely not the case, but still, it's something to know :p

I'm not sure exactly what happened.

In most cases, to join a guild, you are sent an invite; that you either accept or decline. This invite looks much like a party invite, and if you do not read it very carefully they can be confused.

If you do not want to be part of the guild, you can leave. If you go to the social panel, there is a guild tab. Under the guild tab, there should be an option to leave/quite the guild.

Yeah I left the guild. I don't really want to join a guild that randomly recruits anyone and has the status message as "Soon to be the best guild in the game."

I was leader of the group. Do the message show up as green text ? I might've clicked on that then thinking it was an invite to group. Other then that I never saw any pop up messages other then green text for people wanting to join my group.
