First lvl 4 spell for mnk2/fvs8...

Having trouble deciding on my first lvl 4 spell at character level 10. I'm a melee-centered FvS so Divine Power is obviously attractive but it's duration is pitiful. Despite seeing that listed in various builds, I'm tempted to instead go for Holy Smite, at least for the time being until I get something else that can AoE soundburst enemies.

Opinions?

but at lvl 10 you are heading into quest areas where Freedom of Movement rules ...

I LOVE holy smite. It is so awesome. The damage isn't going to be causing any Sorcs to lose sleep, but it's not -bad-, it's area effect, it hits outsiders extra hard, and the blindness kicks in quite a lot, especially against melee NPCs who tend to have crummy will saves.

I went with Divine Power first and then Death Ward and Freedom of Movement (I forget which was first between the two). I also have Extend for DP - still not real long, but it helps.

I like this idea - another option is taking Freedom first and relying on clickies for your fix of Divine Power (short duration, but they last as long as boss fights at that level).

3/day DP clickies aren't uncommon on the brokers; even at min level 9.

divine power scrolls....use freedom for the spell....
death ward last...you can get a clickie from tangleroot...and get it again and again.

I had been using clickies of DP, but I wanted to clear some inventory space and the longer duration of my extended spell. That brings me to my question:

Do the DP scrolls last longer?

And I agree on the DW. I have one of the visors already and it last long enough for that level.

if your melee focused then DP is what i would suggest, then freedom clickies can be found reasonably and are caster lvl 7 now so 1:14 i think is the duration havn't checked scrolls. i don't worry bout death ward till i can get mass. goggles from tangle root bind to account now so just get a few pairs and your set.

whoa....i have not been playing much the last year....They have scrolls of deathward and freedom now???? Man, I would not get either spell then.

Are you sure? I have never seen a clickie of freedom of movement either....man I am behind the times...wow....

looks like i may be respeccing both my 4th level...those spells were usually NEVER available anywhere at all...except the DW clickie from Tangleroot....

There are no clickies or scrolls of Freedom of Movement at all, and none of Deathward save the Tangleroot one.

i got dp BUT i do equal damage if not more with my holy handwraps than with dual burst kamas... i would have rather of gotten fom... saves sp for other stuff instead of dp every 1 min 6 sec
