View Full Version : GEM BAG: How's bout an "are you sure" when selling your rocks?

Most of my rocks go to my haggle bot and dunno how I managed it, but I've NEVER mistakenly clicked the SELLS GEMS button at vendor.

However just last night on an alt, I did in fact click the button and of course without an UNDO button, made an expensive mistake.

Appreciate a prompt to prevent selling GEMS by mistake...

thx for reading.

I'd rather not. The gems aren't worth enough for my haggle bot to bother to sell them and rather just unlock the garbage quickly.

Really? I know players who horde millions of gold (if not platt) in their gem bags - for various reasons.

- Like, never knowing if one day a gem might be needed in a ritual.
- Or perhaps holding on to the gems until such time you have a decent haggle.
- Or perhaps simply as a savings account for a rainy day when you need cash...

If you don't already have one, having a large or huge gem bag makes collecting them a non-issue... until you one day click the SELL GEMS button without having your haggle maxxed out by gear/buffs - here's where an "ARE YOU SURE" button really shines.

And perhaps if not all players see it that way, adding a checkbox in options for an ARE YOU SURE prompt (perhaps with respect only to the GEM BAG) would satisfy us both.

Yeah?

When the medium bags came out I did the math and you will never pay for the cost of the bags based on the extra couple points of selling gems to the hagglebot, especially with the old mailing cost added and when you consider the AH resale value for large gem bags. And with store bought large and huge bags not bound to account anymore, its too inconvient to move the gems to your haggle bot now.

I'd have no objection to the feature if there was an on/off for it.

As for crafting, each new crafting Turbine has added has added new ingredients to the game except for the very early (and apparently forgotten since more aren't being added) rituals where they used existing collectables. I think saving for that reason is pointless.

So I guess you are saying you got your rocks off too quick? :p

Well if they were that important to you, you should have been more careful with them.

IMO, an "are you sure" box would be annoying..following the logic of "of course I am sure, otherwise why would I be selling them."

Although if this could be disabled in options somewhere, then I would have no problem with it. It would make those on your side happy, and those on my side happy.

Just my 2 coppers..

Being low level and poor.. every day is a rainy day.. so them rocks go bye bye every time I cash in something LOL.. someday I dream of having a real rainy day fund, though.

comfirmation dialogs are making the world stupider, one message at a time.

"are you really sure you wanted to do that? or are you sitting behind your keyboard like a monkey, mashing keys and tossing the mouse around? sure, you just clicked this, but we've been watching you for a while... we know you're not that bright."

please no.

I dont sell gems, I trade em around till I get them to my haggle bot. I have hundreds of all the high level drops. I personally dont want a box. I rarely play my haggle bot unless Im bringing her in for an extra chest pull. I almost always sell only to vendors, and rarely ever am in danger of hitting a sell gems button that isnt there. That said, it would be severely annoying on my lowbies that do sell all gems.

In my case, I use the Gem bags so I can hit the "Loot All" button to quickly get my loot, and not fill up my inventory spaces with near-worthless **** that I have to manually clear out when I need a spot to put my freshly pulled raid loot in before anyone notices that the wizard is not putting the chattering ring up for roll :D

Same reason I want a scroll case.

However, I don't mind the occasional tip in plat for selling them, and I like that they are in the game (for immersion purposes, similar to the mounds of gold I search to find stuff I wouldn't bother to smash barrels for).

In short, I like it the way it is.

Well, in the past 3 1/2 years I can recall clicking it just one so, yeah, pretty careful.

Thanks for the coppers;)

Well, I have to admit that the direct vicinity of the 2 sell buttons de facto makes it easier to accidentally click the wrong one and sell your gems instead of the items you selected.
It doesn´t matter too much for me, as I don´t keep my gems for long, but I can understand pople who are unhappy about selling theirs accidentally.

Maybe an alternative to an "Are you sure dialog" would be, however, to alter the location of the "Sell" and "Sell Gems" Button, so that they are so far apart that even if you are in a hurry or distracted you won´t be in danger of accidentally clicking on the wrong one.

I collect them for kicks. It sucks that your whole collection can go poof with no warning. But I also hate warnings.

How about just making it so you can lock a gem bag, and if it's locked gems won't automatically be pulled out of the bag and sold?

Make it a separate lock - I lock all my bags so I don't sell the bag (and do carry gem bags, love being able to hit "loot all" without losing ten inventory slots to gem).

What about a button inside the bag UI window, (defaults to 'off' for gem bags; 'on' for all other bags) that locks every item inside a bag?
