With the stature change for reincarnated characters and the little "symbols" next to the names physically changing the appearance of your avatar, has anyone bothered to take screenshots of what their reincarnated character looks like in comparison to regular characters of the same race, for example? So I can see how much taller my reincarnated halfling/elf/WF/etc. is than regular halflings/elves/WFs/etc? I don't have any characters near level 20 on Lamannia so I can't really test this out on my own.

Also, what exactly is the symbol next to your name? How is that going to work with /tells and the mail system? Will someone rolling a new character be able to use your name without the symbol?

I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere.

Aren't the things on the preview server covered under an NDA? Posting screens of stuff like that is against the rules, that's why you won't see anything like that here.

There's no NDA for the beta server since the launch of DDO:EU.

Does increase of size for haflings decrease the -6 to intimidate they currently get? If so - cool

If not, they should make haflings smaller each time for really cool looks (think mini beholder in Hound)

Standing 2 humans side by side you can't tell the difference
or standing them on top of one another..
my bald non-TR human male fighter and a TR'd human female .. the only difference we could detect was the fact that she had short spiky hair that made her slightly taller.. if it had been two bald male humans you wouldn't have seen any difference..

edit: as for the symbol, it's only on your name above your head .. appears as wing-like dohickys around your name

Are normal male and females the same height? I thought females were slightly shorter... but I could be remembering wrong.

Unless females are smaller (someone help me here, I've never noticed lol) its really not much of a size difference.

Here is a shot of Jeets and my newly reincarnated halfling. It's kind of dark though, bad spot to take a shot I guess.
NPCs are already usually much smaller than player characters of the same race. (Unless he's a boss, which makes him taller)

Kinda sad its such a small increase...though I wouldn't mind my other char's being taller, I really really dont wanna a tall halfling. I like the idea of a smaller halfling :) as mentioned earlier.

I'd like the size increases to be bigger.

Heck... I'd love for a twice reincarnated WF to have the option at a feat to make him one size category larger. -1 AC, -1 to hit, increased damage, +4 intimidate, etc.

I'm thankful the size increase is so small. It was one of the annoying and stupid parts of reincarnation...way too geeky. "look how uber I am and how much time I have to waste"

I didn't like it as a symbol of geekdom. I liked it for purely aesthetic reasons. Character aesthetic customization is one of the biggest weaknesses of this game.

Customization would infer control. You could make yourself taller/shorter/thinner/fatter and your name gets a style you choose. This only happens to a preset size and symbol when you level to 20 and get grindy. Its a geek mark and nothing else, just like the blue glow.

I'm a subscriber who recently came back after playing during the initial launch. The True Reincarnation option definitely had a great deal of pull in getting me re-subscribing and playing again. That said, one of the most enticing perks of True Reincarnation, at least to me, is the size increase. One of the things that I felt had been lacking in DDO was character customization. Sure I get 10 different kinds of noses, but I can't change my character from short to tall? After seeing some of the screenshots, I have to say that I'm disappointed: the height difference is negligible. Now I'm not saying make my halfling huge, but please at least make it noticeable. I'm not advocating this because I want to show off in the harbor, I merely want to make my character my own.

Uh.. you DO have control. You know ahead of time that reincarnating makes you bigger...

I realize it's not perfect. And I know more would be great. But to imply that you don't have control is silly.

lol ok, you'll be customized exactly like everyone else...kind of like now.

Look, I have no problem if they want to add size customization, but claiming that this is customization is just silly. Are you seriously telling me that you are grinding out a total of 265% of the normal XP required to cap a char so that it can be a bit taller? Or 500ish% so that it could be a bit taller again?

If you want to argue for size customization, then argue for it, but not as a required part of TR.

I would love size customization. And right now the only way to get it is to TR. So at least it should be noticeable.

No, it's the truth: the only way you can change your size is as a side-effect of a change that incomparably larger and more expensive.

It's as if the only way you're allowed to repaint your automobile is along with a bigger engine and new transmission; and it's mandatory if you did do that.

Btw it may not show on the screenshot but when you are looking at your character and then stand at someone who reincarnated of the same race you do notice he is a little bit larger. I can only imagine how huge are the true reincarnated x2 going to look like.

If you don't want to be larger.. you don't have to be...

I understand that you don't want size and true reincarnation tied. And if Turbine wants to change that, I'll support them. But since it IS tied to true reincarnation, might as well make it noticeable so I can make some characters bigger if I want.

But we don't have that option, if we TR we get the size. If we had the option for size increase or not on TR I'd agree with you completely.
