After a bit more than two years of PD play I still can get scared.
Tonight we ran a lvl 8 quest with a party level 4 and up - It was one with some nasty traps and tons of nasty undead.
In our guild we are obviously PD - and this was a tough quest. We don't buy consumable magic or use the AH/Brokers to "Gear up". We go with what we've pulled.
In tonight's quest:
We used every spell point the group had.
About every healing and buff potion - and we can't buy them - for healing and a few of our precious wands were used.
We had two players get incapped - and more than a few went to less than 10 HP at various times - with very low resources available.
We had to sneak, go invisible with our few potions, pull minions slowly, kite them through a dungeon, retrace our steps, switch aggro - use buffs to enhance trapped areas....the adventure took over one hour. Each minute was ....difficult.
By the end fight most of the party was cursed and at about 25% to 50% strength ... caster with no manna bars.
By time we killed the boss and thought it was done - we forgot - or didn't remind those who did forget that there were more nasty surprises.
And, yes, I had a few OH MY GOODNESS moments - and got scared and yes...screamed...a bit.. :)
The party consisted of six players. One new to the game and to PD, myself and four very experienced players with capped toons in non-pd play. One of these players comments, "This was the most exciting adventure I have ever done in this game."
It wasn't the Shroud - it was House J
Why was it interesting ... because we challenged ourselves.
Does this type of challenge interest you?
If it does... Look us up.
