so i started one on argo and then on thelanis...

Found I like high wis and a pretty high charisma.
I like maximize as a feat, heighten when available

started with cure light and command, then added nimbus and then nightshield.
Finally got a second level, decided on hold person...
its like command only better.....lol

then I got sound burst for another second level.
first 3rd level was cure serious.

First 4th level I opted for freedom of movement....then deathward.

I have no idea why freedom is rarely ever selected by clerics...yeesh.. no hold persons..!!!
Grease clickies and sleet storm rock if the party is freedomed.
Elementals no problem.

been kinda cool.....really wish the spells were a little better the 1st 4 levels of cleric spells.....yuck

FoM is a Spell that never leaves my clerics Hotbars once I pick it up. COuld not live without it.

Luckily many Rangers and bards also carry this spell so its not critical that you have it I guess.

so....just got level 10 on Thelanis....

spells I have been using....

1st level
Cure light - main heal spell since my crowd control has been pretty good...plus the enhancements and items make it do a good job. And I have money for scrolls and wands.

Command (just dropped it for G. Command) - always good to one shot a dude to keep it from taking out the party...Picked up shield of faith.

Nimbus of light and nightshield - only use nimbus when spamming damage spells to take out a wight caster or skellie arcane...nightshield I use, but probably never really need it. Might switch out nightshield for a diff level one buff like bless and just carry some scrolls.

Level 2 spells

Soundburst - use it a lot. Great for packs of dogs and hobgoblins...also great for getting aggro of enemy casters so they ignore the general party (less aggro on them means less healing needed).

Hold person - great fun and basically an insta death spell...use it a lot in some instances...less in others.

Delfic vengence - barely use except on a nasty undead caster.
Resist - buffing the party and me man.

Level 3 spells

Cure serious wounds - used on fighters who are really taking damage. Not used much at all.
Prot from elements - rarely need to use it...usually just a fire here and there.
Searing light - at 9th level, with max and enhance, I noticed 100+ shots on undead. One shotting some enemy casters and wraiths....awesome.

Level 4 spells
Death ward and freedom- goes on everyone, every dungeon, every time, no matter what. Wishing I could get that on my other toons when I enter a dungeon.

Level 5
Greater command - just got it....will enjoy it.

synopsis so far.....

Have not really had any problems healing at all in the groups. Sometimes in massive melees of poor players it can get a little hairy only having the two spells to spam...and no mass cure spells yet....but no real problems because of aggro management and control spells.

My wands were mostly cure mod til I got to ninth as I seldom needed cure serious. In fact cure serious was usually overkill and a waste of money. However, at 9th I switched to cure serious only.

I have some cash, so at 7 I was using the raise scrolls...only needed a few.
At ninth I started using cure light and mod wounds mass and now the scroll check is not so bad at 10th.

Soundburst is great for large groups and especially since I like getting rangers and casters aggro from the party to me.... Find soundburst is great on spiders and dogs. No trips means less healing!
Command has been good too.

I have good spell pen (including feats) and good enchantment DC (feats) so command does not see blue shields much at all and even the heavy duty casters on elite still sit down. Heighten on all the time. (maximize is always on too.)

I got quicken and think I should have gotten something else as I have had no need at all for it yet.

I am down to my last few hundred blade barrier, solid fog, cloudkill, firewall, and weakness scrolls.....

With my UMD I am getting around a 50% chance on the fire and solid....won't even bother with the cloud kill yet. Weakness is still unusable.

At 9 I started scroll checking the blade barrier scrolls....failed a lot...but made a lot. Absolutey awesome and fun. Gonna miss those scrolls. Gave a few out too.
Wish I had really spent all my cash on them back then instead of only 500 or so.

UMD is not doing me super well and the spell failure is a bummer....many times I do get the firewall and fogs off, but then fail the arcane roll. Thinking about going robe for a bit to deal with it.

summary

All in all, favor soul is pretty fun to play. I really wish the charisma was both mana, spells castable, AND DC.....makes no sense to not be.
The damage spells are great in that they are direct damage however they do so little damage (and none over time) that it is a let down.

Mostly support, aggro management and, control has been the way I have played. Waiting for that blade barrier casting though......12th level...what a bummer.

10 more levels to go....
