View Full Version : Preallocate Metamagics for Quick Casting from a Hotbar

Can we please get something like this? I know it would require a series of dropdowns or some such, or a drop box with radio buttons to apply metamagics on activation of the button you drag to your hotbar... the easiest way I can think of implementing it is by adding a Feat to caster classes that opens the spell book and gives you the option for the Radio Buttons( [] Maximize [] Empower [] Enlarge [] Expand [] Heighten [] Extend [Submit] ), you Submit it, then drag the resultant Metamagic'd Spell icon onto your hotbar, allowing multiple metamagics used situationally without wasting a single spellpoint(such as using Heightened PK and Unheightened Maximized Empowered Fireball in a cyclic pattern).

It would make being a Blaster so much less taxing on the stress centers of the brain, worrying about those lost SP affecting the outcome of a future battle.

This has been suggested since forever. It would be nice if the devs could acknowledge having seen i.

Per D&D, metamagic is supposed to be something you choose to use for each individual spell, not a mode that you toggle on and leave on. A person should be able to throw Extended Haste or Quickened Heal without needing to either (a) have had the feat on already, wasting mana on other spells or (b) stopping and waiting for the progress bar that activates the toggle.

I'd like to be able to alternate between Heal (no metamagic), Mass Heal (quickened), Mass Cures (maximized only) and Bladebarriers (Max-Empped-Extended-Quickened) in combat. The time needed to toggle metamagics makes this impractical, so I tend to keep all of them on all the time and waste SP.

how about spell planer slots? Work just like weapon sets? Drag your spell and any meta magics you want into one slot then you can drag that onto your hot bar.

Another effect that happens is there is a bias created towards knowing the encounter ahead of time so you have pre-planned what metamagics you'll need, instead of the player observing changing conditions and picking metamagics as he goes.

The latter approach would be more entertaining.

Absolutely signed. Casters get the shaft in this game and this would go a long way to fixing that.
