Hi all - I'm a first time players and I'm planning to play a Paladin, I have a question. I downloaded the DDO Character planner and I see there is something called enhancements, where you get points. Do I have to use my points immediatly or can I save my points to buy up the enhancements that cost more (like keep 4 points from level 1 and then add the points from level 2 for a total of 8, as example).

short answer, yes you can save up AP's.

waffle:
when you use the planner its easiest to make all the other choices then plan the enhancements all in one sitting at lvl 20

in game you can save enhancements for as long as you like. when i'm aiming for something specific i like to save my action points up until i hit the level for my goal. i then blow all my AP's in one go.

some classes are better at this than others, eg a rogue will probably need to keep spending AP's to keep up with the trap work, especially if they can't afford to buy the best gear for their level.

as for your paladin, spend them where and when you want. its even better if you use a builder to plan what your getting, then you'll know your not wasting points.

You can also reset your enhancements very easily. It just take some gold and a 3 days wait between resets. Amount of gold increases as you level.

I usually reset my Action Point Enhancements every 6 levels then again at cap. 6/12/18/20

It helps to maximize my enhancements for the level I am. As you level, some Enhancements are no longer needed... reset and your back to optimum.

The character planner.. Ron's planner at least. Has a auto-distrubute button as well. You can do all your APs at level 20 then hit auto-distribute and poof... it sets them all to the level you can get them in priority as you chose them at level 20.
