Make a new thread. Spell "Pole" correctly (it damages the authority of the poll to be mispelled in the title). Then I will be happy to share my opinion with you, and you will attract the attention of many more players. Also, put it in the Combat section, not the Ranger section.

Ranged shouldn't nessisarly be equal with melee, but if they added maybe a lil sumthin else itd be cool.

Addendum: were I to be polled about range combat, I would say that manyshot needs to be improved, ranged dps needs to scale better, and that they need to present tiers 2 and 3 of Deepwood Sniper and Arcane Archer. AA in particular needs more spell effects (AoE, mass debuffs, symbol effects), and a timer or x use FoD like attack.

Ranged does less DPS than melee for a reason. If you could do the same DPS from long range, why would anyone in their right mind melee? Why would you even roll a non-ranger damage dealer?

Way back in the day, pre mod 1 even, I took my twf rogue (the one on the founder's list) and rerolled him as a repeater build because repeaters owned everything in the early game.

No one is saying that Ranged needs to do the same DPS as Melee... it just does too little on an individual basis and grouping with non ranged becomes difficult. Yes all Ranged Groups could be very very effective... but Ranged mechanics in general needs to be looked at.

Mobs reactions to Ranged also needs to be addressed.

In reality all aspects of Ranged Combat should be examined and rebalanced

This myth is one of my biggest pet peeves. And is just so wrong.

People play melee because they want to melee, they like playing a melee character and it's FUN. Not because it's better than range.

That is the reason we play DDO, because it's fun, and there are different things to do, and different ways to do them.

People will NOT stop playing melee characters just because range does better DPS, if people playing this game thought that way, everyone would play a caster with insta-death spells, which have infinitely more DPS than Range or Melee.
