That was my suspicion. I'll have tp save them for a Mage.

Or a monk

1) They bind.
2) Mages don't need AC. They are probably best placed on a monk or a high dex build (like a ranger or rogue).

Bind to account. I was very happy to find that out.

I agree that eventually AC is meaningless for a caster, but that axiom doesn't hold true for levels 1-4. My caster could reach a whopping 21 AC which was actually pretty functional at that level. At about level 5 I stopped caring about AC.
10 base
0 dex (10 dex = 8 base, 2 sharn syndicate bind-to-account gloves) dex bonus
4 mage armor potion or black widow bracers armor bonus
4 shield wand shield bonus
1 barkskin potion natural armor bonus
2 shield of faith deflection bonus
========
21 AC!!!!
For those viewers playing from home, the text in yellow is the type of AC bonus and only the highest bonus of a type counts (except for an untyped bonus and the dodge bonus which will generally stack from different sources). So if you drink a shield of faith potion and you're wearing a +1 protection ring (both give a deflection bonus), only the faith pot counts, giving +2. There are other kinds of armor bonus, such as luck, untyped, dodge and profane but generally you can't obtain them til later in the game.
At one stage, protection from evil was giving +2 to ac versus evil mobs incorrectly, but I'm not sure thats still the case. Can anyone confirm?

I just realized this the other day. Think i have some chainmail, and when i equip those bracers, the a.c remain unchanged.
Is there a forum sticky/link explaining how the armor points add up for DDO? (similiar to yours regarding how and where various a.c gets added up?)

Different sources stack.
Dodge stacks with dodge.
For other sources only the highest one count.

In the black widow bracers example the type of the ac bonus is "armor". Armor also give a ac bonus of the type "armor".
If you wear leather armor with a ac bonus of the type "armor" 2 and also wear the widow bracers withe ac bonus of the type "armor" 4, only the higest will count. =>+4 AC
If you put on a +3 leather armor with a ac bonus of the type "armor" 5, only the higest will count.=> +5 AC

clarification on Dodge Bonuses.
in DDO only different values of Dodge ITEMS stack
ie
Chattering Ring +3 Dodge would stack with Chaosguards +2 Dodge but not with Dragon Touched Armor +3 Dodge
Dodge Bonuses from Spells or Feats do not count in this way
ie
Haste +1 Dodge Bonus to AC still stacks with Dodge Feat +1 Dodge Bonus to AC
Also Alchemical Bonuses from Rituals don't count this way as well even though they are technically Dodge Bonuses... makes me wonder why they don't just change the type to Alchemical
