How do you voice mute someone?

My wife and I play DDO in the same room. Hearing my voice coming out of her speakers .25s after I speak is very annoying. How can we mute each other's voice?

/squelch add <name> works OK... but then when we can't invite each other to our groups as the invitation is automatically declined.

Headphones with a mic works nice.
