View Full Version : The 'Friends' tab - time to fix it?

With the servers dramatically busier might it be time to address improving the functionality of the friends tab? :)

I'd appreciate a comprehensive 'at-a-glance' view of my non-guildie pals. Specifically, adding the ability to see party status and location would help a lot.

With so many folks on, using the 'who' tab has become even less efficient than it was before. The bar doesn't stay still long enough to really look at. And for anyone looking for multiple buddies, using the search box on the who tab seems inefficient as well.

Reasons may vary from person to person; for me, it's largely the desire to not bug anyone busy questing. If I can tell that they're hanging out in a public area I'm more likely to ask what's up, say 'heya.' or what have you...

I know this has been requested off and on over the years, but I haven't seen anything recently [please forgive me if I just missed it].

While we're on the subject, maybe party status could be added to guild tabs as well. Might that be useful for larger guilds...?

Good idea about the party status.

Not to sound negative, I to would like to see that instituted, but the people on the Forums generally use the 'Friends List' for people who they wont group with anymore

Not to sound negative to your negativity, but isn't the idea of a "Friends List" for friends? Why wouldn't the Dev's want us to use it for the correct intention? Common Sense. They need to add another list as well that would allow us to add people that we do not wish to play with that if we happened to party with would immediatly display a warning.

If that's true, I guess it raises the question: Would it be generally used as an ignore list if the friends tab worked properly?

Others have suggested the addition of a separate ignore list and I think it's a good idea, particularly in tandem with improvements to the friends list.

I'd like to understand the emphasis on the word 'forums.' My hope is that fixing this would benefit everyone [for whatever purpose they wish to use it], forum-ite or not. :)
