Lowbie Muckbane Runs tonight

Hey folks, I have a 1barb/2cleric, and will be running Kobold Brothers tonight around 9pm EDT for Muckbanes. Please feel free to /tell Torgrim and we will cycle folks in and out of the group as folks get their Muckbanes. Rogues welcome, so we can get to the 2nd trog behind the secret door!

I am in. I will be on around 9:00 est and give a shot to Torgrim. I am looking to duel wield them, so if there isnt too big of a line I will stay on for multiple runs. I have a helm of detect secret doors, so I can find it and open it for the trog.

I'll borrow a strategy I read somewhere on the newbie forums. I don't remember who came up with it, so I'm sorry I can't give credit where credit's due.

Make 3 teams of 2 players. Have all teams kill the eastern brother first, open the valve, then kill the western brother. At this point, they should approach the door that leads south. If Muckbane spawned, they'll get the optional quest message.

All teams stay away from the big bad ooze and report to the other teams.

If only one team (Group1) got Muck
Disband Group2 and Group3
All players join Group1 and kill Muck together
Loot the chest. More Muckbanes that way.

If two or more teams (Group1 and Group2) got Muck
Have one player remains in Group2 so dungeon doesn't reset, others disband
All other players join Group1 and kill Muck together
Group1 disbands, joins Group2 and kills Muck there

Sucks for the one guy that has to wait in the dungeon, but it's really the most efficient way. If you can get all the people to understand the strategy, that is.

I might join you on an alt, I've been meaning to make a bard for some time now.

As those options are good, I found just running durk's solo got more muckbanes faster than running in groups at any difficulty

In 11 runs one day (time taken 2 hours) I pulled 4

Really? On a barb toon on thelanis, I ran it 16 times and got TWO muckbanes

Yabbut, I'm really tired of running stuff solo. Amazing how hard it is to get a group spot as a cleric!

You'd think, wouldn't you? I put up LFG, even /broadcast like a WOWer, "level 3 cleric looking for group" after LFG doesn't get a response.

Well I will put you on my friends list tonight and anytime you want to duo with a Pally (and I am on) I would start a group with you. I basically have been soloing the first 4 levels, but I am sure we can do more with a cleric and a pally.

Went quite well tonight. At least 5 Muckbanes were pulled, and everyone made plenty of cash!

Yeah it did go very well... I went through the last 5-8 runs with having ransacked chests, so maybe tonight or tomorrow we can run it again for the couple of people who did not get a Muckbane.

I am looking to dual wield them, so I am happy to do multiple more runs...

That's because its easier to see who is LFM (press O to open your social panel) than it is to figure out who is LFG (Press O, click the *Who* tab, punch in level restrictions AND then sort by grouping status) so most people dont bother. I also dont think alot of players remember that chat is zone specific... There might be a cleric selling **** at the brokers who'd love to go on your WW elite run but being in the marketplace he cant see your ad in general chat.

That and a lot of players turn off GC or ignore it when in dungeons.

I have a new level 3 sorc that would be interested in Muckbane runs tonight, if there are any takers.

I just killed Muck, but no Muckbane in the chest. :(

This happen to anyone else before?

Many times! Muck doesn't even spawn 100% of the time. There are many "urban legends" about how to convince Muck to spawn, or some special order to do things to get him to spawn, but I just go in, kill the two brothers and the trogs for the chests every time, so that there's at least a little loot taken even if he doesn't spawn.

I figured as much, but hadn't read about it yet.

Is there anything special to get to both trogs? I only found one on a previous run.

And do you have to have lockpick to get through the door in the back?

Ran through with my guild 17 times last night and got 3 muckbanes. Not too bad...muck did spawn three other times with no drop for me. One thing I didn't realize was that not everyone in the group would get it as each time some got it and some didn't so I gave two of mine to those who didn't get it.
