View Full Version : Guild Bank?

Just wondering...and yes, I've been gone (and now back)... but has the topic of Guild Banks come up?

I think it would be nice to have this as an option to put in items others can grab/drop off into a shared Guild Bank. This could be something built thru a quest or thru Coin Lord favor (each guild member has to be XYZ in Coin Lord favor + be granted access by the Leader of the Guild) or just be something the Devs just code. (I say 'just code' knowing nothing is easy to code... :) )

Anyhow, maybe a Guild Bank box of 20 slots, with the option to increase the bank box size thru Coin Lord quests or Turbine Points or GP/PP. I'll leave that decision up to the gang here to chime in. I'm really just spouting ideas out to see if there is any interest.

Comments? Or am I just beating a dead horse....

:)

Particularly since Turbine is charging non-VIP's to start a guild there should be more inherent value to it like other games have.

... ok. Aside from one other person in DDO... guess this idea is not that popular.

oh well.

I love the idea of a guild bank.....and guild housing, guild raiding, etc. Something to do besides quests.

Long past over due.

1. it should be sectioned by the level of gear.
2. Only the guild leader and successor should be able to toggle players for its 'withdrawal' use.

Hmm, not sure it's a great idea.... It would just open things up for more guild drama.... Who took what from the bank. ****ed off guildies emptying it and then leavign guild etc etc etc I would like to think that wouldn't happen. But ............ Guild housing... Meh.... what for? Only if it included things like a guild teleport guy who could send you all the various places, and maybe vendors, earned through guild-wide achiements..... Otherwise what's the point? Ya, I kow other game shave such things... But people have to look at the current set-up in THIS game, and then compare that to other games and how such game options interact with each other. I just don't see how either of these ideas would be very advantagious.....

Someone would empty the bank and then people would be upset GMs didnt do anything about it. Sounds like a headache if you are that tight with them mail it or hand it to em.

It has and just recently. (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=203345)

Guild banks are a great idea and shouldn't be shunned just because they are in other games (which is one of the worst arguments I've ever seen). Guilds are nothing more than a different kind of friend's list at the moment and therefore not worth any money (they cost 300 TP = 3,5-4,5 usd).

That's why similar games have permissions. If you don't trust the guy, don't give him the permission to browse the bank. If you DO trust the guy, he can as easily scam you over the regular mail, except that you'll be lighter for a few GP more for sending him the equipment - ONE piece at a time.

And why should we? Because this game nevereverever changes? Guild bank compared to 4 new levels, 2 new classes and DDO store?

Besides. If you don't want it, do not use it. You'll be in a vast minority.

I agree.
The two basic things it needs are:
-Deposit/withdrawal permissions
-Deposit/withdrawal log

The only problem I see is that it renders the much valued (TP wise) shared bank account useless. So before implementing it, Turbine'll have to think of a way to "tax it".
Perhaps the simplest way would be, that "shared bank account" account option also unlocks the "guild bank usage".

MMMkay.... I won't and either will you because it ain't happening ;) It's not even on the *Soon list yet.... :p

And it has nothing to do with guild banks being in other games.... It's just a waste of time, and asking for more trouble than they're worth.....

It's a fantastic idea. IMO the game needs a good examination/enhancement cycle focused on guilds and guild features, and a bank should be near the top of that list.

I am all for guild banks, guild halls, guild questing, etc. Always disliked it when games have a guild system and all it is is a chat function.

I'm the type that LOVED setting up home bases in PnP and worked towards building them up to be bastions awesome. So anything that adds to that feel for me I'm all about it. :)
