Which resistance scales better, the racial or the class damage resistance?

Class damage resistance. At level 20 it can be as high as DR 9/-.

Yea the class one is superior, 9/- for only 6 AP spent.

Tho the racial one can actaully go higher if you totally gimp your character by spending all feats on DR:
2 base
6 feats
3 enhancement
11/adamantine

Is this including if I chose Adamantine Armor? I can't play without looking as close as I can to a real Warforged instead of a root golem.

i thought the wf and barbarian DR stacked ....no ?

Levotiz yes. The adamantine body feat is a total waste of a feat. I do agree it looks cooler then composite tho, they should let us select a style without wasting a feat.

Dopey, no they do not stack. No DR in the game stacks unless the description specificly states it does, and thats only for like types.

So since I have Adamantine Plating, I should not bother with the barbarian damage reduction action points?

Im not being clear I guess.

Adamantine Plating: +2DR Adamantine
Warforged Improved DR, +1/2/3 DR Adamantine, stacking with the platinung, for a total of 5DR/Adamantine.
Maximum (with 1 feat spent): DR5/Adamantine - some monsters and almost all players will penetrate this.

Barbairan DR
1-7 DR/- , 100% free.
Barbarian Improved DR, +1/+2 DR/-, stacking with the natural barbarian DR.
Maximum: DR 9/- (nothing can get thru this)

Read and select which you think is best.

Thanks, Shade. I'm not good at 3.5 (I like 4.0 because it's very new comer friendly, and easy to understand.)

I see where the barbarian damage resistance would be superior however wouldn't the +8 ac from the adamantine be worth it unless you were doing a dex build and planning on overcoming that +8 with the raw dex bonus?

Keep in mind I have not played WF or Barb, but I am thinking of making that combo for the purpose of good damage output and sustainability in combat. Any advice would be welcome.

Barbarians do not have ac, you get hit on a 2 anyhow so dont waste a feat on something that does literally nothing for you.

90% true past level 8, 100% true past level 12.

Untrue level 1-6. there every point of AC is very usefull.
