Greetings all,
I am currently running a Bard with a view to a Warchanter. He's a drow and have run him up to level 4. The more I keep reading the forums the more, dare I say it, confused I become. Here's the my.ddo linkie (http://my.ddo.com/character/thelanis/graystrom/) of him.
I am not normally a min/max'er kind of player. I just don't want to shoot myself in the foot now when I might be better off rerolling.
Were I to reroll I would want to stay drow or some such as I don't have 32 pt builds available. I know I am your basic novice, but I do value y'alls input.

thanks,
GT

Assuming you want to be a 'combat bard' and have little interest in CC spells and only want to do the occasional spot heal:

Reduce Charisma big time: down to 10 or so. A spells needs Cha + its spell level to be cast. So 10 Charisma +1 item = 11 - Can cast 1st level spells. Select buffs and heals.

Bump Con: Need hps!

Strength: Put level ups here. Do not go the weapon finesse route. Str = 'to-hit' and 'damage'!

Dex: Could always start at 16 and use a +1 tome at some point to meet the reqs for ITWF and GTWF, or else start at 17. Not a biggie.

Hope that helps.

Good info! Thanks for the response. I should be able to get back to 4 pretty fast. Or I could just make another and press on.

Thanks again, Bobo.

Remember that you need 10 + spell level Cha to cast that level of spells, i.e. 11 to cast first-level spells. Items will qualify you if you have a +1 Cha item already, but you are starving your spell points. 12 Cha should be just fine and not too costly on your other attributes.
