Hi again, noob battlecleric in need of some advice (I could not find any other threads on this, so here I am asking for help)

He is ready to hit level 5, and I am starting to worry about the possible stat build points I need to get for him

So he was created out with this build:

16 Str
9 Dex
11 Cha
16 Wis
12 Con
8 Int

Upon reaching level 4, I took another point in Wisdom, but I am unsure where to go from there with the point build.

I want my cleric to be self-sufficient, so I wont be so reliant on teammates if stuff goes downhill.

Any suggestions/feedback is appreciated. Thank you.

Depends on what you want to accomplish.

Wisdom controls the following:

Number of spell points
Ability to cast high level spells (you are already good here with standard wisdom gear you will get as you level)
Spell DC for saves

Thus, if you want to cast crowd control spells (Hold, Soundburst, etc) or insta kill spells (slay living, destruction, etc) then a high wisdom will be necessary. if you want max spellpoints for healing, then wisdom will be necessary.

Put your points in wisdom, if either of these is the case.

If you want to be better at melee, put your points in strength as you level, instead This will be the best area to go.

You will change your spell selection to more buffing to prepare for battle and healing to repair after. Cast less CC and offensive spells. Get the two Divine spells. Divine Favor is one of them. They buff your to hit and damage.

Sure you need more dex and con, but to resolve this, get dex items and con items as best you can. get a false life item. Carry barkskin pots. use tomes as you find them at higher levels. There are also some great items, like minos legens, for increasing your HP.

As for the other two, dont worry about Cha or Int. The are not an issue for your battle cleric.

Your enhancements and feats are also important, though in determining your self sufficiency.

Good luck, and I hope you enjoy the toon.

Depends on how much you want to focus on melee. If you want to remain useful at high levels, you'll have to invest in many feats (e.g. the THF line, power attack and improved crit). If you're willing to do so, it makes sense to bump your Strength and accept your DC on offensive spells won't be top notch (though it won't be that bad either since you're already at 17 Wis).
If you want more to be a support melee while staying focused on your cleric casting abilities, keep increasing Wis. That's what most people would probably do.
