Only for whatever spells you get in your "Bard 1" level.

You also have the ability if you so choose too, to make either a elf or drow sorc or wizard and use AP's on the Elven Arcane Fluidity which would allow you the ability to wear the right kinds of light and medium armor with little or no spell failure. Not really a often taken route but it is an option as I said if you so desire.
