Ok guys, so I freely admit I have NEVER played a DDO rogue before. But my Gm suggested I re-creae my house p rogue to DDO.
This is not a build request, just a request for helpful tips from the folks on my fave server. This is a 28pter as my f2p account hasnt gotten 32's yet. Mark of shadow is a given and he's a dex monster on paper. Heres my real issue. I cannot remember how I started his stats in pnp. Suggestions on how to start over?

I would advise against taking the dragonmark. Waste of a feat IMO and you'll have plenty of stealth ability from skill points.
If you can provide some background other than "dex-monster" it would be helpful. TWF or archer, stealth focused, trap focused or chr skills focused?
You indicated the mark of the shadow, maybe the assassin enhancement?

Sorry yes. You're totally right. I'll skip the rp stuff since I doubt it's of interest. Weapon wise he's a twf fighter, stealth and traps not real big on CHA. Used whips a lot but we dont have em in DDO and trip works just fine without em. Not really ranged either. Mark of Shadow is a must as it's an integral part of the characters backstory. I hadn't thought of the assassin enhancement, that right there helps immensely and makes a lot of things click into place. Thank you.

the dragon mark of shadow is totally useful.
First off, having invisibility on demand is really handy at the first few levels.
Second, you can cast it on other people. (like your cleric)
Later on the Displacement is AWESOME not only can you use it, you can cast it on other people. (like the main tank(s))
Shadow walk Is a little less use full. you can only use it on your self. but the extra speed, displacement and bonus to hide is critical for two things. Sneaking quickly up to something to SA it.
And sneaking threw a pack of mobs to collect soul stones. there's been a lot of times I've managed to shadow walk away from a wipe, re buffed, come sneaking back in grabbing stones. (Getting a stone isn't considered "interacting" so it doesn't break) then bee lined right for the shrine, saving the day.
granted, you do eat up three feats with it.
try out this builder http://www.rjcyberware.com/DDO/ then you can play around with differnt things with out worrying about gimping your char.

Yeah if youre going to RP with some friends the Mark will be useful. If you plan on end game raiding, the mark will be pointless. You can use scrolls/clickies to compensate in end game, and the build will be feat starved as it is.

...Weapon wise he's a twf fighter...stealth and traps... not real big on CHA...Not really ranged either... Mark of Shadow is a must...
I would go with:
Level 20 - Elf - Rogue
STR-14
DEX-16
CON-12
INT-14
WIS-10
CHA-10
These are pretty well rounded 28-Pt stats in my opinion. Not really min/max but an overall strong base to start with.
Max out these stats:
Balance
Bluff
Disable Device
Haggle
Hide
Move Silently
Open Lock
Search
Spot
Use Magic Device (Even though you are not a high CHA toon - putting points here can never hurt a rogue who may find themselves in a bad situation)
Tumble/Jump (If you like)
Feats:
1 Least Dragon Mark of Shadow
2
3 Lesser Dragon Mark of Shadow
4
5
6 Greater Dragon Mark of Shadow
7
8
9 Weapon Finesse
10 (Rogue Bonus) Improved Evasion
11
12 Improved Critical: Piercing Weapons
13 (Rogue Bonus) Crippling Strike
14
15 Two Weapon Fighting
16 (Rogue Bonus) Defensive Roll
17
18 Improved Two Weapon Fighting
19 (Rogue Bonus) Skill Mastery
20
Personally I would rearrange the order I took the feats. I'm just showing you what's possible and what I would get for your build. I would get weapon finesse and two weapon fighting as early as possible to be able to fight more effectively but I realize the dragon marks are pretty important on a role playing aspect.
As for enhancements, you can always play around with those to see what fits your style better and respec if needed.
On a side note, you may want to consider splashing a level of fighter or ranger maybe to give you a few more feats to play with like Toughness and Greater Two Weapon Fighting, which are important for anyone focused in two weapon fighting and close combat.
Hope this helps. :)

silly question, how long does the displacement last on the mark of shadow?
