Noob Sorc question

ok in the Compendium here, looking at the spells/level chart...it says....Spells per Day Known/Spells Per Day Cast...
and has like...Level 1 ---- 2/3. they know 2 spells but have 3 slots? i'm confused about this and their actually spell learned progression, mainly compared to wizards. any help is appreciated, thanks.

ignore the second number, thats pnp thingy

in ddo just the first number is used

In PnP sorcs know 2 spells and can cast a total of three times. In DDo they know 2 spells and can pretty much spam them at will.
